Proposal Places

A proposal is an incredibly special moment that will be a fond memory and a story to tell for years to come, so it needs to be in the perfect spot, right? Take a look at these proposal ideas and locations that definitely tick the boxes...

Looking for somewhere special to escape and just stay put for a few days, wrapped up in your very own bubble, not a care in the world, just the two of you? A rural cabin tucked away in the treetops with an idyllic hot tub and stunning countryside views could be just the ticket. And, what’s more, whisking your loved one away on a break away from the everyday is the perfect way to hide a proposal plan...OK, maybe they’ll be a little bit suspicious, but it will definitely be an unforgettable holiday!

The highest point on Great Britain’s stunning south coast (part of the renowned Jurassic Coast) and visible for miles, Golden Cap (named after the colour of its greensand rock) is definitely a good spot for a proposal. After doing some fossil hunting on the beach, head off on the climb to the top, through the National Trust owned Estate – your other half may moan about the walk but will be wowed by the views from the top – sneak onto one knee and give them the best surprise of their life. Totally unforgettable! And, if you’re looking for an equally special place to stay nearby, The Chalet on The Beach is just the ticket – located right on nearby Monmouth Beach in Lyme Regis – what’s more idyllic than going to sleep and waking up to the sound of the waves lapping at the shore?

Lovely Lamb’s Tale is the epitome of a romantic retreat, tucked away in Somerset countryside with its very own bubbling hot tub, countryside views and all you could need for a comfortable stay. All of this and it’s right at the foot of the Quantock Hills AONB – perfect for walking or cycling to one of the many high points – such as Lydeard Hill and Wills Neck, enjoying breath-taking views for miles, with the Bristol Channel and South Wales to the north, Glastonbury, Wells and the Somerset Levels to the east and the Blackdown and Brendon Hills with Exmoor behind to the south and west – to pop the question. Or, for an even more incredible outdoor proposal, why not hop on horseback (there are plenty of riding stables nearby such as Quantock Trekking)!

A king or queen needs a castle, right? Since you’ll spend so much of your time whilst staying at Mount View Retreat gazing at the panoramic view of Mounts Bay, with majestic St Michael’s Mount at centre stage, it would be rude not to visit it. And what a fab place to propose! Start with a walk along the beach and then head long the causeway (or catch the boat at low tide) over to the spectacular Mount. Whether you pop the question on the causeway, hunt out a private spot on the Mount or venture into the castle grounds, it is sure to be a super special moment. And you get to enjoy the view of where that very moment took place for the remainder of your holiday, perfect!

Now here’s an idea for a proposal with a difference! An iconic must-see on the Isle of Wight are The Needles, and what better way to catch a glimpse than on the Needles Chairlift. And, although you may not be able to get onto one knee, we think your other half will forgive you! Whilst lifting up, up and away, with the stunning views opening out in front of you, whip the ring out of your pocket and create an unforgettable memory, feeling like you are the only two people in the world. A stay at Fortune would be a great accompaniment for this special getaway, an all-round unforgettable holiday.
