The best of dog-friendly glamping
Penned on the 11th April 2019
Because holidays just aren't the same without our faithful four-legged friends.
National pet day seemed the perfect opportunity to let you know that half of our portfolio is dog-friendly. In fact, more dogs than children holidayed with us in 2018 – so we know we’re barking up the right tree when it comes to glamping with dogs!
Whether you’re looking to take Spot away with the whole family or just the two of you, in Cornwall, Devon, Somerset or the Isle of Wight, we’ve got the place for you and your pampered pooch to enjoy a staycation (without the worry of Brexit and passport changes!). Here are some we made earlier but for our whole collection click here.
Lamb’s Tale Shepherd’s Hut
This romantic retreat for two is THE place for a couple and their dog, with all the home comforts you could need plus a hot tub, sat on the edge of the Quantock Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with wonderful walks aplenty.
Shepherd’s Sky Super Hut
Surrounded by fresh air and tranquillity, boasting stunning panoramic views and sunsets, this huge shepherd’s hut, sleeping up to five with plenty of room to spread out, not only has a fully enclosed garden but is also close to some fab walks in rural mid-Devon.
The Wagon with Faraway Views
Four-legged friends are very much welcome here, there is a lovely large fully-enclosed garden with distant views of Dartmoor National Park (a must-visit with your pooch, just 20 minutes away by car). Exploring on foot is super-easy too - the owners provide a handy map of the local footpaths.
Shepherd’s Rest
Nestled away in one of Cornwall’s prettiest villages, not only did the owner lovingly handcraft this idyllic retreat but he also made a super-sweet mini shepherd’s hut/kennel for your dog (only if they want to use it, of course!). There’s also a handy outside mixer tap and plenty of open space for Fido to explore until his heart’s content.
Rusty the Tin Tent
Rover will love roaming around the seven-acre meadow within which this terrific tin tent sits, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and just a couple of minutes’ drive from some brilliant dog-friendly beaches on the infamous Lizard Peninsula.
Mount Lookout
Exactly what it says on the tin, if the view isn’t enough to tempt you to this pretty pod then the extra mile that the owners go to for your pooch might – on arrival a doggy welcome hamper awaits you, complete with a blanket, ball and treats (contents may vary!).
