Lamb's Tale Shepherd's Hut

I had a lovely stay in this beautiful shepherd's hut. Everything was clean and cosy, and it had everything I needed. The hot tub was lovely and easy to use. Sue was very friendly and happy to explain everything. The site was more compact and less secluded than I'd expected from the listing with a holiday lodge just next door. I enjoyed my stay in such a lovely place.

Our third visit to Lamb's Tale. From the warm welcome from Sue, the lovely welcome goodies, the unbelievably well equipped hut (in fact the best equipped self catering accommodation we've encountered anywhere) to the wonderful hot tub...(the other side of the hedge from the inquisitive bullocks) and the cosy wood burning stove, it was the perfect 2 day stay, right at the foot of the lovely Quantock Hills.

We stayed here 22–26 September with our dog Shelby, and it was our second visit in three years. Once again, the property exceeded our expectations. The hosts are truly thoughtful and helpful – beyond what anyone could imagine.

The accommodation was spotless and had everything we needed. The property and hot tub were already warm on our arrival, which was such a lovely touch. The welcome pack with Prosecco, biscuits, luxury hot chocolate, and more made us feel immediately at home.

We really enjoyed the beautiful walks just five minutes from the door, and it was a joy to meet the animals – especially watching the calves play. The homemade apple juice was absolutely delicious too!

A huge thank you to the wonderful hosts for being so kind and making our stay so special once again.

This shepherd’s hut is absolutely gorgeous. Husband and I came away for a couple of days peace and quiet and it didn’t disappoint. We brought our dog with us and having all that enclosed space meant we could relax

Lovely views, lovely hosts and a wonderful setting

Amazing hut, absolutely perfect for our needs. Safe and secure large private paddock, ideal for our dog. This aspect alone makes this place stand out, the privacy and peacefulness was excellent. The hut itself was amazing, everything we needed which again sets it apart from other huts we've stayed at previously. Hosts very friendly and welcoming. Hope to book again and will definitely recommend to friends and family.

Terry & Sue were the perfect hosts, advised us where to go and what to do. Accommodation was amazing and they had thought of absolutely everything to kit the hut out with, very comfortable. We will definitely be going back.

Lambs Tale Shepherds Hut is very cosy, very well equipped, very comfortable, surprisingly spacious and in a great location for exploring the Quantock Hills and Somerset area. The hot tub is great for relaxing in the evening while watching the bats and listening to the owls. The fully enclosed garden was thoroughly enjoyed by our dog. We had a lovely stay and would like to return at some point

Wonderful 3 nights. Everything you need in the cooking area, comfy bed and lovely shower. The hot tub was lovely after a day's walking, even in the rain! Secluded garden for our dog to roam in was safe. A very happy stay.

Our hosts were friendly and welcoming and always available. The Shepherds Hut was cosy and comfortable and provided everything we needed for a pleasant stay.

The Quantock Hills are stunning with a diverse range of landscapes and wildlife, it is remote and wild and seemingly untouched by tourism. The Farm is in an idyllic location, providing the perfect spot for unwinding, engaging with nature and relaxing in the lovely hot tub under the stars in the evenings.

I would definitely recommend a stay.

Such a lovely space for a relaxing few days. The shepherd's hut was fitted out really well with quite a lot of storage space to help keep a small space lovely and tidy. It was very comfortable and clean with some nice goodies left for our arrival. The owners couldn't have been any more helpful and even invited us to feed a couple of baby goats. The area was easy enough to navigate although some very narrow roads to negotiate at times which we got used to as we went along. Great places to visit, walks inland or on the coastline, Quantock Hill views, lovely pubs, cream teas and that lovely little hot tub!

Excellent shepherds hut, ideal for one or two people. Very good bathroom\showed facilities, very comfortable memory foam bed.

Fab little shepards hut, had everything we needed and more. Really nice meet and greet from the friendly owners who showed us around and how to use the oven/ hot tub ect. Beautiful view from the window and really lovely to sit in hot tub and enjoy the surroundings.

Lovely place to stay with all amenities (including early morning sheep awakenings!). Hosts are always willing to help and always ready to leave you alone.
Nothing better than a long walk in the Quantock Hills followed by a soak in the hot tub.

Sue and Terry are fabulous hosts they really have thought of everything that guests may need. The hot tub complete with robes and towels was so nice and completely private.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 day mini holiday in the hut. It was a beautiful tranquil setting to relax and unwind. It's so close to the quantocks that we were able to walk from the hut up to Wills Neck which was brilliant. It made a big difference to have a few days without driving. The hosts were excellent and provided everything we needed for a comfortable stay, including kindling for the firepit and coals for the bbq!

Lamb's Tail was the perfect escape - it was compact but it had everything you needed, it was so well thought out! We were very lucky with the weather, the clear evening skies were perfect for stargazing whilst sat in the hot tub. We will definitely be returning!

The property, hosts & vicinity were amazing - exceeded our expectations and was far more cosy, warm & comfortable than we could have imagined. A wonderful way to kickstart our Christmas - thank you very much.

Wow! My short stay in the shepherd’s hut was just absolutely perfect! Next time, and there will definitely be a next time, I will definitely stay longer! A wonderful warm welcome from Sue, who was so helpful in planning and showing me the nearby walks as I don’t drive. A bottle of wine and delicious biscuits provided, and the interior was spotless, beautifully presented and well equipped. An absolute beauty! The hot tub is a must, especially under the stars after a long walk with my little dog in the woods. I highly recommend Lambs Tail, it was the perfect restful rural retreat , looking forward to returning!!

The hut was lovely. A peaceful location with views across open fields and the Bristol Channel. It was very rural, which we like, but close enough to shops and great access to the Quantock Hills and Dunster Castle. The hot tub was bliss! Will definitely be returning!

This is an absolute gem of a property.
The location so peaceful, the hosts so helpful, the hut and garden super clean and comfortable, loved the sun loungers and the hot tub!

Amazing place to stay, hot shower, amazing hot tub, comfiest bed, gorgeous views, listening to the animals every morning with a brew in bed was just amazing, big enclosed garden for my little pug he loved it! Can’t wait to come back!

A lovely romantic getaway in a beautiful secluded rural location. Everything you could possibly need is provided including a full size fridge and cooking facilities so you can bring your food for the duration of your stay and not have to leave site if you would like. Clean and comfortable with the added luxury of the hot tub.

Our second visit; couldn't fault it (even the weather) and Terry & Sue lovely hosts.
Ideally situated for walking the Quantocks, and an ideal hideaway during Covid times.

We had the most amazing stay at Lamb’s Tale Shepherds Hut. It’s an absolutely gorgeous place to stay, all the little details inside made it such a beautiful and quirky hut. The owners have thought of everything you could ever need! The bed was so comfortable we slept so well in peace and quiet on the farm, the especially after we had lit the wood burning stove. The hot tub was incredible, such beautiful views to enjoy and we loved seeing the chickens each morning. The garden was huge and enclosed so our little dog could run around each morning. The location is fab too, so many beautiful walks nearby and Kilve beach only 20 mins in the car. We loved every minute of our stay and we can’t wait to go back!

We had the most wonderful 4 days at Lamb's Tale, immediately before the 2nd Covid lockdown, and counted ourselves very lucky to have been able to enjoy the break at this time.
We absolutely loved everything about the hut, the farm and the surroundings, starting with a warm welcome from Sue. The recently redecorated cosy hut was equipped with everything you could possibly need. The hot tub was bliss, lying looking up at the stars, with the Space Station going over, and fire pit nearby, was wonderful.
Walking from the farm up into the hills via Cockercombe to Crowcombe Park Gate and back via Rams Combe was a great circuit, and the autumn colours spectacular.
Lovely view across the fields from the kitchen window..and we enjoyed watching Terry on his red tractor not long after sunrise to tend to the sheep, accompanied by his dog running crazy circles around the tractor.
We loved every moment of our stay. Thank you Sue and Terry. We'd love to come back one day.

Amazing long break! This Shepherds hut is just the most cosy, lovely place to stay. Clean and very well equipped. Friendly welcome from the owners with chocolates, biscuits and wine. Great location, with lots of fantastic walks with great views! Hot tub was perfect. Would highly recommend, and can’t wait to go back!

We have stayed in Shepherd’s huts before but have never been in one where the owners are so friendly and have put so much effort and thought into providing every thing you need for a warm, comfortable, relaxing stay. There was everything you needed and many unexpected touches too like the delicious homemade cakes and mince pies, wine and chops, sauces and condiments, jams and cereals. It was a pre Christmas break and Sue kindly asked before we arrived if we would like some decorations too! We were also surprised and delighted to be asked if we would like to join them at a friends house in the village for some Carol Singing on our last night.A lovely way to end our break and finished off with a last soak in the hot-tub star gazing. Lots of trees and shrubs around also provide good opportunities for bird spotting too.

We had lovely week away, owners were so friendly on arrival showed us around the facilties and the hot tub warm with robes to use. Made more special with homemade cake and a bottle of wine from the owners.

We realy enjoyed our relaxing stay at the Hut. The welcome gifts were a lovely touch and the owners very pleasant to tak to. The Hut has everything you'd need in terms of kitchen amenities. The hot tub is a nice relaxing retreat (as is the shower - which is big and certainly hot enough). The wood burner also makes for cosy) nights in! Would highly recommend booking Sunday luch at the local Rising Sun Inn (15min drive or 1hr45 walk). Would highly recommned - and have done so to family & friends already!

This Shepherd's Hut delivers on everything; from amenities within the hut and outside (hot tub, BBQ and fire-pit for example!) to the friendly and welcoming hosts and the stunning location. Would stay again in a heartbeat!

We had such a lovely time! The hut is so cute and beautiful- everything is organised beautifully. We enjoyed going for walks during the day followed by hot tub then movie in the evening! The eggs, a glass of home brewed cider and bottle of wine was also a great touch. We will deffo head back in the future. Thank you

A most enjoyable and relaxing stay.

It was just perfect! All of the little details, the kindness and unobtrusive nature of Mr and Mrs Knox, our dog loved having his own little garden and especially his visits from Ben! The hot tub was a really nice touch and the hut was the perfect mix of feeling close to nature but also having the amenities to make it comfortable. Waking up to hearing the farm animals and the sunlight coming through the curtains was just perfect. Also, the little things like having a view of the farm animals from our window, the peace and quiet and even the wine and cake on arrival. Could not fault anything!
We will certainly be back!

Wow! Lamb's Tale is THE perfect hideaway retreat for a couple and their four-legged friend. We had such an amazing time and are already planning to go back! The hut itself has everything you need, from the well-equipped kitchen area to the hot shower to the comfy king-size bed. The garden is a great size and escape-proof for the dog. And the location couldn't be better - less than a five minute walk and you're in the Quantock Hills - stunning scenery and fantastic walks. Lots of lovely villages nearby too, with supermarkets available in nearby Bridgwater as well. The owners, Sue and Terry, are very friendly and helpful but totally unobtrusive. Just THE place to stay for a cosy and chilled out getaway - we can't wait to go back.

We were really blessed by our holiday here, as the shepherds hut was cosy and had everything you needed. And relaxing in the hot tub under the stars after a day spent mountain biking or walking in the Quantocks was magical. The owners hospitality was superb and they really made us feel welcome and all the little extras like little gifts and having a decent wood supply really sets them apart. Lamb's Tale is a slightly quirky and truly delightful place to stay. It is both comfortable and well supplied with everything you could hope for to make your stay enjoyable. The hot tub is a wonderful bonus that added a wonderfully relaxing dimension to the holiday. A place we will always remember and hopefully visit again.

Excellent stay at Lamb's Tale, lovely setting, and very friendly landlords (and dog Ben!). Very clean and comfortable, hot tub is a definite bonus. Welcome cake and wine was a lovely touch.

My partner and I stayed here in July with our 4 month old daughter and it was absolutely perfect. The location was stunning, so scenic and really allowed you to get away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. The cabin itself was spotless throughout and surprisingly spacious inside, perfect for our little family. We took our daughter's travel cot with us and we still had plenty of room to move around the cabin, which was a pleasant surprise. Now let me talk about the main attraction, the wood burning hot tub. The hot tub is the selling point to this cabin and was amazing. My partner and I used it almost every night, glass of wine in hand, watching the sun set and the stars appear in the night sky. It really couldn't of been more perfect. The holiday was made even better (which I really didn't think was possible) by the absolutely, lovely service we received from start to finish. The owners went out of their way to make us feel welcome. On arrival, after a nearly 5 hour car drive with a 4 month old, we was greeted with homemade cupcakes and a bottle of wine, its like they knew! There was even milk in the fridge and tea and coffee available, so there was no need for us to rush out to the shops. My little family and I had the best time at the Lamb's tale shepherd's hut and we would definitely recommend. We will also be returning!

Was an absolutely fantastic short break. The cottage was well thought out, clean and had everything you could require. The hosts were amazing as well, taking us via their own car to a brilliant walking spot. Would go again and recommend to anyone.

Expectations were exceeded in every way. Property is beautiful, well maintained and in a beautiful location. The owners went far out of their way to ensure we were comfortable and had everything we needed, right down to giving us a lift in to the hills to start our walk.
Every little detail has been thought of including towels for the dog.

Totally recommend the lambs tale for a relaxing break away! We had the most wonderful week, the owners could not be more kind or thoughtful! Amazing setting and being on the farm with the animals was a huge bonus for us! The hot tub was beautiful and we left feeling truly rested! We will always remember the farm fondly as the place we got engaged too! We will definitely be back!

We had a fantastic stay at the shepherd's hut over the bank holiday weekend. There are lots of lovely walks nearby which our Labrador loved and then we could return to the cosy hut and jump in the hot tub. Bliss!

This is the perfect place to explore the wonderful Quantocks. The Shepherds Hut is small and perfectly formed. Everything has been thought about from the robes for the hot tub, logs for the hot tub, underfloor heating in the Shepherds Hut for chilly nights.
