Glamping with dogs means fresh air, endless space in which to roam around and plenty of interesting smells to explore – it’s is a pampered pet’s dream...
Holidays just aren’t the same without our faithful four-legged friends, and since many of our special destinations offer dog friendly glamping, there’s no need to leave them behind when you go on holiday in the UK. Save money on kennels or dog-sitters, and bring your furry friend along for a luxury getaway at one of our cabins, safari tents, huts and wagons, all of them set in wide-open surroundings that will give both you and your pet an unforgettable back-to-nature experience. Just watch those tails wag.
It's always good to be prepared before you take your canine chum on holiday, whether for a short break or longer. He or she will need a collar with your contact details, an extendable lead, a comfy bed, food and water bowls, poop bags (obvs) and an old towel or two for drying off after a good walk. Keep a bottle of water and bowl in the car, too, for days out. Speaking of which...one thing that's really great about our destinations in the South West is the huge range of dog-friendly walks, from coastal paths to woodland wanders. Lots of beaches are dog-friendly, too (though it may depend on the time of year) and, of course, once you're all tired out and ready for a break, you're bound to find a welcoming pub in which to relax, and maybe try a pint of the local ale and have a natter with the regulars.
So – whether you’re looking to take Spot away with the whole family or just the two of you, in Cornwall, Devon, Somerset or the Isle of Wight – we’ve got the place for you and your pampered pooch to enjoy a staycation. In fact, half of our portfolio welcome dogs and more dogs than children holidayed with us in 2018 – so we know we’re barking up the right tree when it comes to glamping with dogs!
Sounds good right? Here are some we made earlier but for our whole collection click here.
Lamb’s Tale Shepherd’s Hut
This romantic retreat for two is THE place for a couple and their dog, with all the home comforts you could need plus a hot tub and an enclosed garden, sat on the edge of the Quantock Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with wonderful walks aplenty.
Shepherd’s Sky Super Hut
Surrounded by fresh air and tranquillity, boasting stunning panoramic views and sunsets, this huge shepherd’s hut, sleeping up to five with plenty of room to spread out, not only has a fully enclosed garden but is also close to some fab walks in rural mid-Devon.
The Wagon with Faraway Views
Four-legged friends are very much welcome here, there is a lovely large fully-enclosed garden with distant views of Dartmoor National Park (a must-visit with your pooch, just 20 minutes away by car). Exploring on foot is super-easy too - the owners provide a handy map of the local footpaths.
Nestled away in one of Cornwall’s prettiest villages, not only did the owner lovingly handcraft this idyllic retreat but he also made a super-sweet mini shepherd’s hut/kennel for your dog (only if they want to use it, of course!). There’s also a handy outside mixer tap and plenty of open space for your dog to explore until his heart’s content.
Rusty the Tin Tent
Rover will love roaming around the seven-acre meadow within which this terrific tin tent sits, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and just a couple of minutes’ drive from some brilliant dog-friendly beaches on the infamous Lizard Peninsula.
Exactly what it says on the tin, if the view isn’t enough to tempt you to this pretty dog friendly luxury camping pod then the extra mile that the owners go to for your pooch might – on arrival a doggy welcome hamper awaits you, complete with a blanket, ball and treats (contents may vary!).
