A dreamy friends stay at Juniper and Seren 

Surrounded by rolling hills, green trees and sheep gently grazing, we enjoyed our scenic drive as we made our way to our gorgeous hideaways nestled in Powys, Wales, Juniper and Seren. 

We unpacked our bags from the car and loaded the supplied wheelbarrows, eager to explore our hideaways for the next couple of days. To the left, the beautiful, blue-hued Seren welcomed me with lovely and calming interiors, as well as delicious hamper of local goodies from the friendly hosts. I dropped my belongings and instantly felt at home.

Meanwhile, Abbie made her way to the gorgeous green Juniper, ready to settle into the light-filled and charming space and excited for a relaxing few days in a truly tranquil setting. The owners had really thought of everything, and their attention to detail was inspiring.

With no rush to do anything, we sat and soaked up the picturesque views whilst enjoying a cold glass of our favourite tipples. Lucky enough to visit in a British heatwave, we were in our element, relaxing with only the sound of birdsong and sheep. It was lovely to escape the everyday and enjoy the idyllic countryside in the sunshine.

As the sun began to dip, we made use of the amenities and lit the fire pit. The sky filled with golden hues as the views became even more magical (which we didn’t think was possible!). As the fire pit doubled up as a BBQ, we enjoyed some lovely local produce cooked alfresco, taking full advantage of the lighter evenings and balmy temperatures. Our evening was full of chatter and stargazing, finished with delicious hot chocolates before settling down for the night.

The next morning, we were greeted with another day of sunshine as the rays glistened through the double doors, into our beautiful hideaways. Both well rested from a deep sleep in the comfiest of beds, we met in Juniper for a slow breakfast, enjoying the fresh bread, eggs and jam left in our welcome hamper. The well-equipped kitchen had everything we needed, making our morning flow with ease as we planned our walk around the grounds.

With both Juniper and Seren positioned at the foot of Dolfan Hill, we were excited to explore the rolling countryside that surrounded us. Saying hello to our friendly sheep neighbours on our way, we gently strolled across the ancient farmland, spotting birds, bees, butterflies and of course, more sheep on our way.

The setting was picture-perfect as we admired the miles of green fields and wild flowers. It was so lovely to see the owners’, Natalia and Malcolm’s, vision come to life with restoring their grounds into a lovingly rewilded project, with nature and low environmental impact at its heart.

Upon our return, we split off back to our individual train carriages and enjoyed a soothing soak in our outdoor bathtubs. Surrounded by nature and each with maximum privacy, the sound of birdsong filled the air as we took an hour out to relax. The owner kindly provides bubble bath and robes, making for the ultimate alfresco spa experience.

That evening, we were going to venture to the local pub but the setting at our hideaways was just too inviting to leave, so we rustled up a delicious dinner and relished another sun-dappled evening. Juniper and Seren provided the perfect base to experience a stay with friends, but offering your own luxuries and comfort of a hideaway each.

Immersed in nature and taking the time to completely switch off, we embraced a slower pace of life. The setting blew us away so much that we spent our whole stay on site, making the most of every second before our reluctant departure. We left wishing to return soon for another dreamy catch up without any distractions.
