Overview
Step Inside
Handcrafted and utterly unique, Sun-Dapple’s structure is affectionately known as a truffle. ‘Round, rare, precious, and nestled in woodland’, its captivating design and earthy interiors evoke instant calm and provide a welcoming cocoon as you step inside. Wrapped by a wooden ark with arching windows to complement the shape, the open-plan space celebrates its forest environment and brings the outdoors in. To the left of the truffle, a blanket-clad hammock sits next to the window for leisurely moments spent swaying in harmony with the trees, along with a bean bag chair and wood burner, just perfect for cosy evenings. A double bed adorned with French linen sheets awaits in the middle of the cabin, with ambient lights on each side to create a tranquil atmosphere. To the right, you’ll find quirky wooden seats and a table with a second arched window to enjoy the serene views. A selection of nature-inspired books and games tempts for hours lost in pages and shared moments in your sanctuary.
Outdoors
Surrounded by enchanting woodland, Sun-Dapple invites you to enjoy the magic of each season. From the luscious and vibrant blooms in spring to the cosy, copper-hued embrace of autumn, the leafy canopy evolves with an ever-captivating display of colour and wildlife. Soak up your breathtaking surroundings from the hammock with views over the neighbouring meadow, or light the fire pit and share stories long into the evening. Craft your favourite pizza in the wood-fired oven and dine at the undercover picnic table, while the alfresco kitchen also features a barbecue, gas stove, kettle, cafetiere, and selection of accoutrements. For a taste of Devon, a variety of food hampers with local produce can be ordered in advance from the owners. Within the main cabin, located at the entrance of Honeydown and just a short walk from your truffle, you have access to a designated kitchen for Sun-Dapple, complete with a sink and fridge, as well as a personal shower room complete with a WC and sink.
Explore
