Overview

Nestled within a forest glade in rural west Sussex is where you’ll find lovely Cala Lily. With picturesque towns and a wealth of walks right on your doorstep, it’s the perfect getaway for adventure seekers and outdoor enthusiasts. And you don’t have to leave your beloved pooch behind as four-legged friends are warmly welcomed here. The hut itself is gorgeous, with a fold away bed to utilise the space during the day. Our favourite feature has to be the cosy alfresco seating area, where you can toast marshmallows until your heart's content. This really is a special retreat for those wishing to spend some quality time together in a tranquil and unspoilt location.

Step Inside

You are bound to fall head over heels in love with this bespoke hut. Enter the open-plan living space to be greeted with stylish soft furnishings and lovely countryside charm. Deep blue tones run throughout the hideaway, with pretty plants dotted along the way. The whole space has a calming nature and warm ambiance, you’ll feel utterly relaxed here. There is a sweet dining area to the left. Enjoy a golden pot of coffee and delicious fresh pastries as the birds sing their morning song. At night, you can fold down the comfy double bed and snuggle in for a dreamy night's sleep. There’s also underfloor heating to keep you nice and toasty on those cooler eves. The stylish kitchen is well-equipped with all your holiday essentials. Including a gas hob and oven, Belfast sink, fridge, toaster and kettle. To the right is the beautifully presented shower-room, where you will love freshening up after a countryside ramble. This wholesome hut is the perfect place to call home for a little while.

Outdoors

Pretty lanterns line the winding path leading the way to your countryside haven. Tucked away amongst the trees, the location is utterly enchanting. There is a large grassy area for you to soak up the Sussex sunshine or play fetch with your pooch, a bench to enjoy your morning brew and the special alfresco seating area where dreams come true; get lost in a good read, have a G&T in the sun or cook up an intimate dinner for two and enjoy beside the flickering flames. On cooler evenings, snuggle up under a blanket and gaze at the stars above or toast marshmallows and reminisce over fond memories you share. Here, you will create new memories to cherish forever.

Explore

Outdoor enthusiasts will adore the location of this lovely little hut. You really are spoilt for choice with an abundance of walking and cycling routes right on your doorstep. Including the South Downs way, the Literacy Trail, Leith Hill, Chanctonbury Ring, the Downs Link, Pitch Hill and Cissbury Ring. Go on safari in 3,500 acres of breathtaking natural habitat at Knepp Wilding and experience mother nature at her most impressive. Here you’ll discover a host of fascinating endangered animal and insect species and learn about their sustainable practices designed to rewild nature. Why not roam the vibrant gardens of Parham House, St Mary’s House and Petworth House and Gardens? Or visit the historic Bramble Castle, Arundel Castle or Amberley Museum and Heritage Centre.

Stop off at Bolney Wine Estate on the way home for a coffee or sample the delicious selection of wines from their vineyard. You can also take a tour of the nearby Nyetimber Vineyard to learn more about their sparkling wines, and perhaps even take a bottle back to your hideaway. The owners are also on hand to help with any foodie recommendations with plenty of cosy pubs, lovely cafes and a michelin star restaurant nearby.

If the seaside is calling, take a day trip to Brighton and discover the abundance of quirky shops of cafes, vibrant cocktail bars and endless eateries, not forgetting its famous pier. For long days lazing on the sand, head to Littlehampton Beach. East Littlehampton offers plenty of activities and amusements including mini golf, whilst West Littlehampton offers a more laid-back atmosphere. If you get peckish, be sure to stop for food at the award winning West Beach Cafe.

For a dose of city life, head to nearby Chichester to take in the sights including Chichester Cathedral, The Novium Museum, and Bishop’s Palace Gardens. Browse the many lovely independent shops and refuel at a host of cafés and restaurants. There’s something to appeal to everybody, whether you’re after a coffee while you wander, a hearty pub lunch, or a fine dining tasting menu. The city is also home to the world-class Chichester Festival Theatre, with a whole host of activities and performances to delight audiences of all ages. With all of this to discover and so much more, you will simply never tire of exploring lovely West Sussex.

Extra Information

There are two other hideaways onsite; Douglas Fir (5290), another shepherd’s hut situated just around the corner from Cala Lily and Little Oak Treehouse (5288). These hideaways are a great solution if you wish to get away with friends and family, but like to have your own secluded areas to enjoy.

Availability, reservations and pricing: £125 - £135 per night

Bed linen and towels are included in the price. There are no extra charges for cots or high chairs where they are listed in the property description on the website.

There is a charge of £38 per pet per week or short break.

A non-refundable booking fee of £35.00 is payable per booking.
