Step Inside

As you walk up to this beautifully crafted hideaway, step inside and be fascinated by its truly stunning interior. With comfy, contemporary furnishings throughout, melt into the sofa or snuggle up in the sumptuous king-size bed, with soft linen for the perfect night's sleep. Light the cosy wood-burner and stay toasty no matter the time of year. The TV is built into the bed, so you can treat yourself to a lazy morning with breakfast in bed or simply rotate the TV to watch it on the sofa. Cook up a romantic dinner for two in the excellently equipped, rustic kitchen that has everything you could need, including a Nespresso coffee machine.The hut is complete with a very stylish shower-room that feels as though it could be straight out of a boutique hotel. You will be truly spoiled during your stay at The Whistle, it has everything you could possibly dream of and more!

The outside space is just as breath-taking as the inside. Just a few steps from the shepherd’s hut you will find a wood-fired hot tub, positioned in a way that is totally secluded. Enjoy al fresco showering after a steamy dip in the tub, another feature that makes this hideaway so unique and special. As the golden sun sets over this idyllic haven, relax on the thoughtfully created seating area or unwind in the comfy egg chair. Cook up a crispy based pizza in just 90 seconds in the fabulous DeliVita pizza oven or enjoy a deliciously smoky meal on the barbecue, outside dining to your heart’s content. Every inch of the outside area has been thoughtfully created for you to make the most of the tranquil countryside views. Enjoy heavenly evenings under the stars with a glass of fizz in hand and create holiday memories to treasure forever.

Explore

Should you wish to venture from The Whistle, then you will find yourself in a beautiful part of south Somerset, with its rolling countryside, woodland walks and chocolate box villages. The hamlet of Allowenshay is very pretty, you can walk from here to the lovely local dog-friendly pub, Dinnington Docks. You could also hop on the West Somerset steam railway that leaves from Bishops Lydeard, a truly unique experience! As well as beautiful countryside, this area is also home to some fabulous National Trust properties, including Barrington Court, and Montacute House.

Ilminster and Crewkerne are larger towns nearby, which both have attractive architecture and a number of different shops and cafes. Slightly further afield but still within easy reach are the Somerset Levels, fantastic for cycling, walking and wildlife watching. The Whistle is in a great position for visiting the neighbouring county of Dorset too and your trip wouldn't be complete without a visit to the Jurassic Coast. Head to West Bay for fish and chips at the harbour, or for more sophistication, Lyme Regis is a vibrant seaside town and has a number of excellent restaurants.

The owners have truly put their heart and soul into ensuring every last detail has been thought of at this outstanding hideaway. They live on site, close by if you need them, but you are assured of your privacy.There is one other hideaway on site, The Crook (5003), but both huts are positioned in a way that you have complete privacy. If you would like to holiday with friends, these two hideaways are the perfect solution! A special place to retreat to together, but with your own secluded areas. The only other neighbours you have to worry about are the friendly sheep, who will remind you of your charming, rural surroundings. By prior arrangement (and for an additional cost and with 48 hours notice) the owners are able to provide you with pizza dough and barbecue packs of delicious local produce - what a treat!
