We had a lovely stay at Room with a View - it had everything you could need and more. Very clean, well decorated and felt like a home from home. In a perfect location for walks straight from the door or just a short drive away. We loved that we could fully disconnect here and read, play board games, cook a nice meal and see the tor out the window. One of our favourite memories was waking up at sunrise and seeing all the sheep/lambs just the other side of the wall!

What a glorious location.
The Room with a View was inviting, cosy and just as described.
Waking up to seeing Haytor in all the weathers, and the young black lambs, was a humbling experience.
We will be back next year.

This is a well equipped , warm and comfortable large room. Great windows overlooking the tors, wood burning stove although not really needed as the room is warm. Good shower, and kitchen has everything provided. The garden is large and private with bbq area and outside seating on verandah.
This is a really nice escape on a working farm, but also close to Widecombe amenities.

We had such a wonderful time at Room With A View.
The location is perfect, with plenty of Tor walks from your doorstep, National Trust locations and seaside also close by. It felt remote and rugged but was close to amenities.
The cabin itself is the perfect size with everything you could need, including kitchen equipment, logs and kindling, books and games.
We also had some lovely welcome gifts. Pooches included!!
Super comfy bed, which was perfect for reading in listening to the stormy weather outside.
The walled garden was perfect for the dogs, accompanied by me with a coffee on the bench under the arch.
Waking up to the sunrise over Haytor was wonderful.
We will book again and would recommend it to couples and dog owners.
Thank you for a lovely stay

Absolutely amazing stay, we regretted only staying for a week, almost crying when we had to leave. The cottage itself is super cozy, with lots of outside space and an amazing view of Haytor. Situated between Widecombe and Bovey Tracey, you're in the middle of the beautiful moors, while still being only 10 minutes away from shops and restaurants.

Lovely accommodation, what you see is what you get. You would never know it was dog friendly as it was very clean, my partner has a dog allergy and this was one of the few places that he was fine in. Well equipped in side. We came prepared with all we needed and didn't use the car all week. Many great walks straight from the door. A farm shop roughly a 2 hour walk away which served lovely food, pub and café in Widecombe just a 45 minute walk. Ponies in all directions, you could sit for hours looking across to Haytor spotting walkers. Don't be put of with it being slightly off grid.

Really super property . Perfect setting , great location and we wanted for nothing . Loved the firepit and BBQ and our dog enjoyed the safe garden . It was a very comfortable and easy place to settle into . A good area to walk straight from the door and leave the car at base .

A wonderful place to be of grid, with ample queit, and stunning scenery. Great location with plenty of dog friendly day trips, and activities to be busy every day, or to sit and relax in the garden. Thank you for sharing your little piece of calm.

Beautiful settings and a thoroughly peaceful experience.
Arriving and leaving the cottage was no fuss and we were left to our own devices.
Would recommend to anyone looking for slow paced and relaxing time. A perfect space to bring your canine companion as the walled garden is very spacious and secure.
Will be back!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
Cabin was beautiful and was perfect for our dog with the enclosed garden.
Lots of attention to detail.
Our only criticisms is that the bed is rather small and for my over 6ft husband he did not have a good nights sleep and the other is that the kitchen window could do with a blind.

Beautiful location and definitely a room with a view! So amazing to be off grid in the heart of Dartmoor National Park in the most beautiful of settings.
It was amazing to be in this little hut in the middle of nature, but be rest assured the cottage has everything you could need! We celebrated our anniversary here and it was the perfect location. Our puppy loved running around the beautiful enclosed garden, and we loved the BBQs round the fire pit and drinking wine on the decking below the stars.
It is in such a great location with so much available in a short drive, or even a walk!
The hosts were great and made us feel so welcome. They have great tips for walks, pubs and shops nearby which was super handy!
We will definitely be back!

Fantastic cabin with amazing views of Haytor. The cabin is suitable for all weathers - we had a lovely BBQ in the garden on our first night and later when temperatures dropped we used the wood burner inside the cabin on the same weekend! The cabin is very well equipped and we loved the welcome gifts for us and our pet dog from the owners which was very kind. Lots of great walks on the doorstep and short drives to local villages/towns which makes it a great location for exploring Dartmoor. Would very much recommend as a great dog friendly stay in this area.

We had a wonderful weekend and just loved the large beautifully kept enclosed garden which allowed our dogs to run free for the entire weekend. The cabin was superb and much nicer than we expected. The photos don’t do it justice. The garden got the sun all day and the fire pit was perfect for when the sun went down. We will be returning for sure.

The property is wonderful. A great place to escape to, walk from and generally chill. The owners are available if anything is required and the property is very well equipped for all of your needs. Will definitely visit again , thank you .

We loved our stay at Room with a View, it certainly was that. It's a million pound view from all sides. Walking straight out on to the moors was heavenly and having a technology detox was very much needed as there is no signal at the property with limited wi-fi. That was a highlight for us. Our hosts were exceptionally kind and generous it was a treat to properly get away.

Beautiful little cabin, cosy and comfortable. The owners are really friendly, the complimentary gifts for me and my dog were a lovely touch. The views from the cabin are fabulous. The night sky is amazing..no light pollution. I saw the International Space Station every evening. The enclosed garden is ideal for the dog. We were blessed with beautiful weather so did lots of walking. We will return.
