Looking for the ultimate seaside escape? Somewhere where you can breathe in fresh, salty sea air and watch the seagulls wheeling above the waves, with nothing - absolutely nothing - to distract you? Well, you can't get much more away from it all than this: an isolated cliffside cabin with incredible views over miles of golden beach and azure seas, and a spacious, luxurious interior that's designed for comfort, rest and relaxation. Set on Captain Blake's Point (it's named after a 17th Century Commander of the Commonwealth who took his last voyage around this stretch of the coast) high above Whitsand Bay, this incredible getaway is ideal for a romantic break or a solo adventure, with four-legged friends welcome to come along and keep you company.
Proving just how far from the madding crowd the cabin is, you can't reach it by car (and low-slung vehicles may find it tricky to access the lane to the parking area) - so travel light and pack up your minimal gear in a rucksack, ready for the 700 steps along the coastal path that take you to your heavenly retreat. Everything you'll need is on-hand once you arrive. The living/dining area is stylishly designed, with a comfy sofa, leather club chair and vintage chest-cum-coffee table gathered around a cosy wood-burner. It leads to a well-equipped kitchen with fashionable blue-painted Shaker-style cupboards, loads of work-top space, an electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer and even a dishwasher. The bedroom boasts a king-sized bed with beautiful linens, and the high-quality shower-room (with hot and cold running water whenever you desire) completes the picture, with WC, wash-basin and huge walk-in shower. Pale timber floors and white-painted walls run throughout, while deep windows draw you to the glorious views - whether you're snuggling on the sofa, enjoying a hearty meal at the dining-table or simply having a well-earned lie-in, we dare you to take your eyes off them!
Switch off completely here, because there's no WiFi - though the 4G signal is good. Instead, why not try to identify a peregrine falcon or a passing boat with the telescope provided? Or simply relax at the picnic-table on the gravelled area outside, drinking in the panoramic views and watching the sunlight twinkle on the rolling waves. Heaven on earth.
