Cabin in Shropshire with wood burner and alfresco dining: Tucked into a peaceful hillside in the heart of the Shropshire Hills, Elfie is a little world of its own - a hand-crafted cabin made for dreamers, stargazers, and anyone craving a dose of magic. Step inside and you’ll find curved wooden walls, branches wrapped in twinkling fairy lights, and views that drift across the serene countryside. A place for slow mornings, long rambles, and cosy evenings curled up beside the fire.
Overview
Step Inside
Push open the curved wooden door, and you’re welcomed into a warm, softly lit space that feels wonderfully cocooning. Natural wood panels line the walls, a sweeping branch wrapped in fairy lights frames the double bed, and soft, earthy tones create a sense of calm from the moment you arrive. To one side sits the kitchen and the comforting glow of the wood burner, filling this cosy space with warmth. You’ll find everything you could need, including a gas hob, fridge, toaster, kettle and kitchenware for rustling up romantic meals with fresh finds from the onsite farm shop, or slow-cooking on top of the wood burner, which doubles as an oven, with plenty of logs provided. A foldaway dining table sits by the large porthole window, giving you far-reaching countryside views while you linger over breakfast or admire the night sky as evening draws in. There is a selection of books and board games for cosy nights in, while the sumptuous double bed, wrapped in luxury linens and draped in soft throws, invites restful sleep and long lie-ins.
Just beyond the kitchen, you’ll find the curved bathroom, featuring a compostable toilet, wash basin and a rainfall shower to truly unwind in, after a day exploring the countryside.
Outdoors
Step outside onto the spacious wraparound deck and take in the sweeping Shropshire views of patchwork fields, grazing sheep, and the endless sky beyond. There’s a bench and table with a parasol for leisurely outdoor lunches, a hammock for whiling away warm afternoons, and a charcoal barbecue for alfresco feasts, watching the world go by. As evening falls, settle beside the chiminea, wrapped in blankets, sipping something warm, and gaze out over the fields as the sun dips below the rolling hills, and you find yourself under a blanket of sparkling stars.
Explore
Elfie is perfectly placed in the heart of the Shropshire Hills National Landscape, where every walk rewards you with truly breathtaking views. Begin in the Clun Valley where the river winds through timeless villages, ancient stone walls, and storybook cottages. Wander up to Clun Castle for far-reaching panoramas, follow riverside paths between hamlets, or cycle quiet lanes that weave through meadows and woodland. Stop by the local pubs for hearty lunches, browse the village shops for homemade treats, and stroll through lanes that dip and rise through the peaceful countryside. Just a short drive away, the Welsh border beckons, opening the door to even wilder landscapes. Cross into the Cambrian foothills for sweeping mountain hikes, discovering waterfalls and forest trails, or spend an afternoon browsing the independent shops, bakeries, and craft galleries of nearby Welsh market towns.
