We loved our weekend at Florian! It's in the perfect location, great for exploring the area. We arrived after dark but the instructions to the property were very clear. The cottage is so private and has amazing views of the countryside, and a really comfy bed. The log burner and outdoor bath were both lovely touches, making it the perfect space for a cosy weekend away.

A beautiful stay in a beautifully designed space that felt spacious yet comfortable and was the exact get away we needed to escape the hustle and bustle of every day life in a city.

We stayed here for three nights and while the location itself has potential, there are a number of areas that could be improved to make the experience more enjoyable.

The wood burner was difficult to use – the glass door was completely black on arrival and needed cleaning just to see the fire. It also seemed like the chimney might be blocked, as the fire went out each time the door was closed. There was no fire blanket or extinguisher provided, which felt unsafe.

We found there were no instructions for most of the appliances (dishwasher, oven, hob, wood burner), only for the air conditioning. The towel rail in the bathroom was also extremely hot with no warning sign, which could be a safety risk.

Practical details were lacking: no outdoor bin (so we didn’t know where to dispose of rubbish or dog waste), no first aid kit, no oven glove, and no recycling options. We also had no contact details for the owner, only Classic Cottages, and unlike other places we’ve stayed, no one came to greet us.

The property was advertised as having super-fast WiFi, but we couldn’t connect at all during our stay, and with no mobile signal either, we were completely cut off. The outdoor seating cushions were covered in mould, which added to the feeling that the accommodation wasn’t well cared for.

Compared with other glamping sites we’ve visited, we missed the thoughtful extras that usually make a big difference – things like a firepit, books, a guest book, or a small honesty shop with wood and essentials. Information about local walks, pubs, shops, or attractions would also have been very useful.

Overall, the stay was fine but disappointing compared to previous glamping experiences. With more attention to detail and better care for guests’ safety and comfort, this could be a much better place to stay.

Basically to charge the premium prices premium service needs to be provided.

We hope all this will be addressed and maybe in a future we will give this place another go.

If this is your first Glamping and have no expectations then you may have enjoyed the whole stay.

Thanks so much for sharing your review. We're very sorry that you were a little disappointed with a few aspects of your stay and we have followed up your concerns up with the owners. They're sorry that you experienced issues with the wood burner and will ensure that clear guidance is added to make the operation easier. A fire extinguisher and fire blanket are supplied, though we understand that the fire blanket was in the process of being renewed during your stay. A welcome pack is provided including local maps, walks and recommendations as part of a gift hamper - they apologise if this wasn't available. It's also a shame that you had issues connecting to the Wi-Fi during your stay - it looks as if there may have been an external outage at the time, and we apologise that the issue was still not resolved after you reached out to us. Please be reassured that your helpful feedback and suggestions have been passed to the owners for them to address and we do hope that you would consider a return visit in the future. We stayed at Florian for one week with my husband and our dog, and we truly loved it. The cabin is very stylish, cozy and well-equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. We especially appreciated the privacy and the peaceful surroundings. The area is quiet, with parking, and there are pubs and a supermarket close by. The sea is just a 15–20 minute drive, and there are plenty of hiking trails in the area. I would definitely recommend having a car to fully enjoy the location.

A few small points to mention: the house can warm up quite quickly, although the two AC units do a good job of keeping the inside cool. Outside, after around 1 pm, there is no shade, so an umbrella or similar option would make afternoons even more enjoyable.

We were also touched by the welcoming pack, the thoughtful dog pack, and the fresh flowers—they made our stay feel extra special. Thank you again for a grwat experience — we really enjoyed our time at Florian!
