Shepherd’s hut in Devon with electric hot tub: Quietly nestled beneath the trees, this countryside haven is nothing short of a dream. Begin your days slowly, wander through wildflower meadows, and unwind with long, starlit soaks - surrounded by the stillness of the countryside.

Overview

Tucked away in a sunlit glade, Alma is an utterly peaceful sanctuary where simple pleasures take centre stage. Swing in the hammock with a book, meander along woodland trails, or stretch out on the sun-dappled deck and listen to birdsong. Evenings are made for alfresco dining, with a fire pit for toasting marshmallows and a steaming hot tub to sink into as the stars appear. With riverside picnics, rolling countryside, and the wild Devon coast just a short drive away, Alma offers the perfect blend of adventure and tranquillity, wrapped up in a beautifully secluded setting.

Step Inside

The light, airy space is filled with warm wooden accents and soothing splashes of sage green. At one end of the shepherd’s hut you’ll find the gorgeous kitchen with everything you’ll need for your stay, including a two-ring induction hob, microwave, fridge with a small icebox, kettle, toaster, and a radio for leisurely evenings spent cooking. At the other end of this charming cabin, you’ll find a heavenly king-size bed with cosy linens and a window overlooking the idyllic countryside. Just beyond the kitchen, you’ll find the light-filled bathroom, featuring a WC, wash basin and a walk-in shower - the perfect way to unwind after days of exploring.

Outdoors

Nestled in total seclusion, Alma feels worlds away from the everyday, surrounded by trees that create a peaceful, intimate setting. Enjoy alfresco moments on the picnic bench or unwind in one of the two hammocks, gently swaying in the breeze.

Spend sun-soaked afternoons unwinding in the soul-soothing depths of the bubbling hot tub. For dining, a charming bistro table and chairs are perfect for romantic meals, while the barbecue and fire pit create the perfect setting for alfresco evenings. As night falls, gather around the fire pit, toasting marshmallows and enjoying the tranquillity of the countryside under a blanket of stars.

Explore

From Alma, a ten-minute walk takes you to the welcoming Castle Inn at George Nympton, just the spot for a delicious dinner or a drink in the sunshine. They even offer breakfast if you book in advance, so you can wander down in the morning for a hearty full English and a local coffee before your day begins.

The nearby town of South Molton is a lovely spot to explore and hosts a market every Thursday and Saturday morning, featuring up to 70 stalls of fresh produce, handmade crafts, and local delights. It’s perfect for gathering picnic supplies or picking up something special to enjoy at your countryside retreat.

Further afield, adventures await across the North Devon National Landscape. From salt-kissed walks along Woolacombe’s golden sand to woodland wanders through Exmoor’s ancient forest trails, there’s no shortage of unforgettable days out just a short drive away.
