Set within 90 acres of private woodland, Wootton Secret Hut is an idyllic hideaway for two (and your four-legged friend!) where you can escape to nature for a few wonderful days. Let your cares melt away as you soak in the secluded wood-fired hot tub and take in the breathtaking views across the rolling countryside to Exmoor. Cook up a feast on the barbecue, and enjoy it with a glass of your favourite tipple in the alfresco seating area as the sun sinks below the horizon. In the evenings, relax in front of the dancing flames of the fire pit and toast a marshmallow or two.

This bright and airy hideaway has everything you could want for a getaway in total seclusion. Light the wood burner and luxuriate in the cosy vibes as the warmth fills the space. Delve into the pages of a book or play board games at the cute table, the choice is yours. The sumptuous king-size bed is just waiting for you to enjoy rest and relaxation. Throw open the doors in the morning and savour your first cup of coffee to the sound of birdsong as nature wakes up around you. The stylish kitchenette is fully equipped with everything you need to cook up delicious feasts, with a two-ring electric hob, microwave, toaster, kettle, and even an air fryer! Switch on the radio as you prepare a picnic to take with you on the day's adventures.

You will want to spend as much time as possible outdoors soaking up the stunning views that surround this enchanting hideaway. The wood-fired hot tub is perfectly placed to take advantage of the gorgeous vistas across to Exmoor. All you need to do is relax and take it all in. You're welcome to explore the acres of woodland, meadows, and streams that surround your hideaway, so you'll have ample opportunity to reconnect with nature. Rustle up a feast on the barbecue, and enjoy it in the pretty alfresco seating area along with a glass of your favourite tipple. The lawn is the perfect spot for your four-legged friend to roam while you sit next to the fire pit and watch the sky gradually turn to pink and gold as the sun sets. Reminisce about the day's adventures as you watch the stars begin to sparkle above you.

Explore

Close to Exmoor and Dartmoor National Parks, this rural location is a paradise for walkers and nature lovers. You will also find the Tarka Trail nearby, the country's longest traffic-free cycle route, which is perfect for seeing more of the beautiful countryside around you.

Visit RHS Rosemoor for 65 acres of stunning gardens with something to see no matter the season. A host of events are held here throughout the year, from flower shows to light displays.

If you're yearning to see the sea, explore Instow on the north coast, where you will find a lovely beach as well as a lively town. From there, you can also take the seasonal ferry to the historic fishing village of Appledore. Wander the streets lined with colourful cottages, stroll along the harbourside, and browse the cute independents. Further north, you will find surfing beaches like Westward Ho! And Saunton Sands, where you can spend an afternoon catching waves. If surfing isn't your thing, walk the South West Coast Path to Baggy Point for stunning views and fascinating geological features.

The town of South Molton is nearby, where you will find a twice-weekly market on Thursdays and Saturdays, where you can pick up local produce and cute crafts. Exeter is also close and has something for everyone, whether you're a history buff, arts lover, or foodie. If you're planning to head to the city for the day you can even leave the car at home and take a scenic 45-minute train journey on the Tarka line instead.

Closer to home you will find a number of pubs, perfect for nights when you don't fancy cooking, or for a well-earned rest after a stomp through the countryside.
