This dreamy escape has everything you could wish for and more. It boasts a wealth of gorgeous detail, with the cutest finishing touches to instantly make you feel at home. Designed with luxury and comfort in mind, this heavenly hideaway is the perfect space for two. Sink into the comfy king-size bed and gaze up at the stars through the purpose-built stargazing window… magical! There is ample outside space to enjoy, discover your secluded decking area and take a starlit dip in the al fresco bathtub. Here you will make holiday memories to cherish forever.
Step Inside
Wander up the path and through the lush trees, leading the way to your gorgeous retreat. The interiors are simply a dream, every detail has been carefully thought out by the owners. The colours complement each other perfectly, creating the most relaxing space for you to enjoy. To the left you will find the sumptuous king-size bed, complete with soft linen bedding. A special feature is the stargazing window directly above the bed, you will be transported to a magical fairytale as night falls and the stars illuminate the sky above you. There is also a bespoke blind to keep the morning sunshine out should a long lazy lie in be on your holiday tick list. The kitchen is stylish and charismatic. It is well equipped with an electric oven, induction hob, kettle and fridge with a small freezer compartment. The quaint dining space is the most idyllic spot to enjoy a freshly brewed cup of coffee and some delicious fresh pastries. Open the stable style doors and allow light to flow effortlessly through the hut. The shower-room is in keeping with the huts' beautiful design and is perfect for freshening up after a day of exploring the wonders of Dartmoor. This little space is truly special, once you arrive, you might never want to leave.
Outdoors
Step outside and embrace the lovely ambience this hideaway offers. The alpacas will greet you with a friendly hello before you wander up the path to your heavenly retreat. There are so many spaces to sit and watch the world go by. The bistro seating area is the perfect spot to soak up the morning sun and enjoy your morning coffee listening to birdsong. There is also a secluded decking area, complete with two wooden sun loungers and the unique wood-fired outdoor bathtub. Get lost in your favourite book on a long lazy afternoon and as dusk falls, sink into the steamy tub for an evening under the stars… just perfect!
Eco-features
Through Burnswood Boutique Escapes, the owners share their love of art and nature. Having planted indigenous trees and wildflowers to create an oasis for wildlife and adding a rocket hive for wild bees, it is the perfect retreat for nature lovers. With 40 different species of birds, including birds of prey like buzzards and falcons, foxes, hedgehogs and rabbits all making their home here!
Explore
We wouldn't blame you for wanting to stay at Rodin's Retreat all day long. But, if you did want to venture out, there is so much natural beauty to explore right on your doorstep. Outdoor enthusiasts will love the miles of wilderness and stunning scenery waiting to be discovered on foot or by bike. Why not give wild swimming a go, it will leave you feeling totally refreshed and at one with nature. If you are looking for independent shops, boutiques and tea-rooms, visit the pretty market towns of Okehampton or Tavistock. There are also several National Trust properties to explore around this area, including Lydford Gorge, Buckland Abbey and Cotehele.
Rodin's Retreat is in the most idyllic location, situated perfectly to explore both Devon and Cornwall. Bude offers some lovely sandy beaches, take a relaxing dip in the sea pool at Summerleaze Beach or hire a kayak and explore! For surfing head to Widemouth Bay, Brauton or Woolacombe on the north coast. Equally as beautiful are Exmouth, Teignmouth and Shaldon on the south coast. There is so much to discover during your stay at Rodin's Retreat. As the sun sets, head back to your hideaway, pour a glass of your favourite and soak away your worries in the alfresco tub.

Extra Information
Named after famous French sculpture, Auguste Rodin, an artistic theme flows throughout this gorgeous hideaway. The lovely owners are talented sculpture artists themselves and run wonderful workshops on site. If you fancy getting creative during your stay, take a look at their website (thesculptureschool.co.uk) to find out more and add this extra special experience to your retreat back to nature.
You will also have access to the open gallery, should you wish to have a look at some amazing artwork during your stay. The owners are on site, just across the road to answer any of your questions.
Rodin's Retreat is part of Burnswood Boutique Escapes. There are two other hideaways on site, DaVinci's Den (5146) and The Artist's Garret (5247). All hideaways are positioned in a way that you have lots of privacy, with the decking area being totally secluded. If you are looking to escape back to nature with friends or a larger group, these hideaways are the perfect solution! A special place to retreat together, but with your own private areas.

Bed linen and towels are included in the price. There are no extra charges for cots or high chairs where they are listed in the property description on the website.
A non-refundable booking fee of £40 is payable per booking.
