Designed by the creative owner, this handcrafted cedar clad cabin echoes the impressive view in which it looks out upon. Blending into the natural landscape with its curved edges that mirror Hanter Hill opposite, this unique haven compliments its organic surroundings while also being a complete showstopper of a hideaway.
Step inside and continue to be wowed by the simply stunning interiors. Soft earthy tones fill the cabin, creating a calm and peaceful ambience. From the wood clad walls to the rich paint pallet, the sumptuous linens to the antique finds, every corner boasts exceptional detail. The open plan space is perfect for easy living, with a simple kitchen, designed to please the eye and full of all the necessities for whipping up a delicious holiday feast. The soft leather Stouby sofa is ideal for cosy afternoons and there are a whole array of brilliant books to get stuck into.
The main bedroom sits on the ground floor of the cabin and oozes luxury. The cosy double bed is dressed in soft linens and looks out to the breath-taking view. Slow Sunday mornings spent here truly are the definition of perfection. After enjoying your morning tea in bed, sink into the free standing, roll top bathtub and soak up the heavenly atmosphere. There's also a gorgeous ensuite shower room where the mid-century design of the cabin floats effortlessly into. This hideaway is suitable for two adults or an adult and a child. There is a mezzanine bedroom for younger guests. When night falls, climb the floating staircase and get snug in this little den with a truly exceptional view.
One of the best things about The Cabin is the indoor, outdoor living style. Throw open the double doors and let golden light flow through. Wake early to watch the sunrise over Wurzel Woods and Hanter Hill, or if long lie ins are a must, enjoy star lit evenings snuggled around the fire pit. However you choose to spend your days at this magical retreat, you are sure to create everlasting memories.
Eco-features
Made using cedar from a local Welsh sawmill. All paints, wood stains and varnishes are natural and breathable. The cabin is heated using infrared panels which are 40% more energy efficient than other forms of electrical heating.
Out and About
The location of this hidden haven is just as idyllic as the cabin itself. Be sure to pack your walking boots and wellies, as there are a wide array of walks right from the doorstep. Hanter Hill is worth the climb for spellbinding views of the Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons. Stanner Rocks is a 1.5-2hour round trip which enjoys sweeping vistas. You might even spot wild horses at the top. For a more relaxed walking route, amble through Worzel Woods and embrace a moment of forest bathing.
For lovers of good food, you are in for a treat! The Cabin is within walking distance is The Harp pub, a firm favourite of the owners and voted pub of the year in 2020. The Stagg at Titley isn't far by car and is perfect for romantic dining. The Workhouse Café in Presteigne is a gorgeous little café and shop, wonderful for a light lunch or coffee and cake.
If the little ones are joining you on your adventure, be sure to visits the Red Kite feeding centre in Rhayader, where a spectacular display of this impressive bird species fill the sky! There's also an array of 'pick-your-own' farms around the local area. From pumpkins in autumn to strawberries in the summer (ask the owner for more details).
If you're an adventure seeker, book into Celtic Canoes and enjoy a paddle down the River Wye. Not far from the cabin and just across the border to England is the picturesque village of Pembridge. Just a little further afield is the beautiful Hay on Wye. Both are well worth a visit and have an array of hidden wild swimming spots!
Important Information
Please note, the mezzanine is only suitable for a child over the age of 6, as they will have to climb the ladder. it's a small space which you can't stand up in, with a full-size double mattress and a single mattress, but is too snug for adults or older children. It also doesn't have a door, so is open to the living space.
There is also one other hideaway onside, The Lean To (5131) and the owners house, but please note your privacy is always respected.
