Overview
Step Inside
Step inside your heavenly hideaway and fall in love with the simplistic, yet chic Scandinavian inspired interiors. There's an earthy charm to this rural cabin that will capture your heart from the moment you arrive. The open plan space is light and airy as the cabin has plenty of large windows that allow the natural light to flow through effortlessly. The cosy double bed not only has a stargazing skylight, but there's also a full-length window at the end of the bed giving you the most delightful view of flowing landscape surrounding your spectacular hideaway. You really will feel at one with nature while staying here. To the right of the bed, there's the sweetest wood-burner that you've ever of set eyes upon. The warmth from the fire creates a certain snugness in the air and is just idyllic for keeping cosy during the cooler months. The stylish kitchen is flawlessly equipped with a small oven and double ring gas hob, perfect for preparing delicious dinners and indulgent breakfasts. Step outside The Bird Box and you'll see your private shower room just a few footsteps away. This separate off-grid cabin, has a shower, sink and compost toilet.
Outdoors
The outdoor space is just as lovely as the interiors of this Unique hideaway. There's so much unspoilt nature to be enjoyed with plenty of beautiful places to sit and watch the world go by. Such as the dreamy hammock, idyllic for reading that book that's been sat on your shelf for a while. However, our favourite feature has to be the blissful alfresco bathtub. How does this sound… after a day of adventures, return to your humble abode, turn the tap, pour yourself a glass of your favourite and sink into the bubbles? And there's even pretty festoon lighting around this magical area that creates the most enchanting setting. For those who love outdoor dining you are in for a treat, as there's a barbecue for you to use as well as a rustic fire pit area, ideal for toasting marshmallows under the starlit sky. We promise you, glamping in the wild never looked to good!
So, what gave this quirky cabin its name? The Bird Box is nestled in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty where the dawn chorus is quite simply breath-taking. On a golden spring morning you will be greeted by the cheerful tune of an abundance of songbirds. Woodpeckers, cuckoos, swallows, robins, nuthatch and blackbirds (who of course sing the prettiest tune) are just a few bird species that share your serene sanctuary.
The Bird Box is a fantastic hideaway to visit throughout the year with its cosy interiors and ever-changing surroundings. From spring, the garden turns to a mosaic of pastel blooms with daffodils and bluebells making their way above ground and later in the year the hydrangeas burst out of bud. Willow trees encircle the area as well as the picturesque kiwi tree that sits just behind the bathtub. This really is the most tranquil dreamland you could ever wish to whisk your loved one away too.
Eco-features
The shower room is off-gird and has a compost toilet.

Nestled near rugged Bodmin Moor, The Bird Box is perfectly positioned for exploring both the north and south coast, as well as many majestic inland areas. Just a 2-mile walk away in the local village of St Neot is where you will find a traditional country pub called The London Inn. The perfect spot for an afternoon tipple in the sunshine. Inkies Smokehouse is around a 45minute walk (or short drive) and serves the most spectacular woodfired feast. We highly recommend a meal out here if you love rustic barbecue food!
For nature lovers you really have picked the perfect hideaway. Golithia Falls is only a short drive away and is a truly magical woodland to be explored. For the adventure seekers Cardinham Woods isn't far and is popular with both cyclists and walkers. Heading a little further south, the coastline is truly spectacular. The Bird Box is truly spectacular and unique. To feel so wonderfully away from the hustle and bustle of real life is worth its weight in gold. We booked a cold and rainy weekend but still luxuriated in an outdoor bath that was lovely and warm. The mini log burner was both adorable and a total life saver. Cosy and good fun.

The Bird Box is a beautiful hand crafted lodge in a stunning location. The outside bath was a real treat, and stayed warm for hours into the night - the perfect spot for star gazing. The bathroom is really high quality, with a powerful, clean and modern shower, and the fanciest compost toilet I've ever seeb. An extra treat was the neolithic hill fort on the property, which has previously been dug by professional archaeologists! Incredible.

It was amazing!
Such a quiet area with a beautiful garden and so many birds. It felt magical!
Kitchen was well equipped and the bed was very comfortable. The bath robes were a bonus.
Really loved the separate bathroom to sleeping area. And I loved brushing my teeth enjoying the garden and birds around me.
The hosts were great, called us before check in just to explain a few things about the property, came to help when we struggled with the oven (user error) and then checked in with us and gave us fresh towels and changed the toilet. Superb!
We are already planning a return visit.

We had a lovely stay and we’re very grateful we could be accommodated at such short notice after a pre booked accommodation fell through at the last minute.
We loved how secluded we were and how beautiful it was to wake up to the gorgeous garden surrounding us for the days we spent there.
I really enjoyed the outdoor bathtub and the fire pit where we roasted marshmallows!
We’ve recommended the Bird Box to family members and friends who need a relaxing and beautiful getaway!

We visited the Bird Box in February and although we had very wet and windy weather we still had a great time!
The kitchen came with all of the essentials that you might need for cooking. The location of the Bird Box is great for exploring, the closest pub the London Inn took one hour to walk to via the moor.
We will definitely return.

This is a tiny jewel of a place to stay - we loved everything about it, from the well-appointed, cosy cabin to the lovely semi-wild garden with its firepit and outdoor bath. This is a wonderful, off-the-beaten-track part of Cornwall and the Bird Box is the perfect place from which to explore it.

really love the bird box. Lovely location nice and peaceful. Parking is great. The bird box is small so might not be great for a week but a few days is perfect. It rained most of the stay but we were warm and dry. Loved the wood burner. Didnt get to use the firepit, due to the rain.
enjoyed the outdoor bath. The bed was lovely and comfortable. There are 3 miles of single track lanes before the property, so be mindful if you are not keen on driving in single track lanes.

Mum and I really enjoyed our stay here! Even in the cold weather we made the most of the hot bath and the bird box quickly warms up with the cute wood burner.
Was everything we could of asked for a little getaway. Not only could we have our seclusion and relax but it was also in a great location to drive to various days out.
Was easy to find and nothing felt difficult. So much was provided in terms of kitchen/ activities that you really don't have to take much with you.

Beautiful property off the beaten track. Has everything you need for a short break and a lovely comfortable bed! We used it as a base to explore Cornwall and had a great time. The outdoor bath was fab! Don't let the idea of a compost toilet put you off, it really isn't bad!

If you want to switch off from the daily grind and immerse yourself back in nature, whilst doing this in style and comfort, then this is the place for you. Birds, bees, butterflies, damselflies, outdoor fires and BBQs and even an outdoor bath under the stars. Truly magical.

My wife and I spent our 15 year wedding anniversary at the Bird Box. Secluded and private, but footsteps away from where you parked. BirdBox was clean and comfy and cosy. The outdoor bath was amazing. Unfortunately we weren't lucky with the weather, so wasn't able to make full use of all the outdoorsy extras, for our whole stay. But the BirdBox itself is comfy and cozy. The lack of a TV and wifi was a welcome treat. We stayed in bed, relaxed and just enjoyed each others company. Ed was friendly and helpful, but we were left completely alone. We highly recommend the BirdBox and we're hoping to get back one day soon.

Perfect for a romantic getaway. You can sit with a wine by the firepit and stargaze from the outdoor bathtub. Little touches like bathrobes make it feel that bit more special. The setting is absolutely stunning and waking up to incredible views at sunrise topped off the experience.

We had the most amazing 4 days at the Bird Box despite it being extremely cold (-10 when we left for our break!) the cabin is cosy and warm with the log burner and the bed was so comfortable! We are used to camping so this was a little bit of luxury for us. We especially loved star gazing in the outdoor bath. We will definitely be returning hopefully in the summer when the weather will be a little warmer!

The Bird Box is a beautiful place, very secluded. I loved every minute. The cabin is small but there’s everything you need, including a small wood burner in case it gets cold. The separate bathroom cabin is fine, and the outside bath a great idea. The garden is surprisingly large and there are lots of walks and countryside to explore around it too. The hosts are very friendly but not intrusive.

Where to even start! The Bird Box is completely magical - we fell in love with this incredible hideaway straight away from the outdoor bath tub to the fire pit and all the beautifully modern decor and little touches (dog treats, robes and Prosecco in the fridge on arrival!) Our Labrador loved the never-ending garden as much as we did and we felt so relaxed and comfortable here. Watching the stars at night, toasting marshmallows on the fire pit and drinking wine whilst in the outdoor tub were all highlights for us that made this private space so special. The owners are lovely and we loved exploring the local area, from Golitha Falls to walking across Bodmin Moors to the local pub for dinner. It is also a great base for exploring the coast (we enjoyed visiting Talland Bay, Polperro and Palace Cove). We cannot wait to return here!

Really enjoyed our stay at the Bird Box. An absolute hidden gem with the most amazing garden. (Our dog loved exploring). We spent hours in the lovely deep outdoor bath and really enjoyed sitting around the fire pit watching for shooting stars! (There is no light pollution here). The styling/furnishings and accessories in the Bird Box were of a high quality and we had everything that we needed during our stay. We would highly recommend this property and we can’t wait to come back!

The bird box is the ideal spot for a quiet getaway. The property it’s self exceeded our expectations and everything was perfect. The host was lovely and welcoming, the hut was clean and gorgeously presented. Crocs and dressing gowns were provided which was a lovely touch and all the amenities that you’d require were also provided. Overall we had an amazing stay and I couldn’t recommend staying here enough.
