Old Orchard Cabin

We had a fabulous stay at the cabin. Everything we needed was there and it was a beautiful spot, with an easy walk to the pub - perfect! It’s such a lovely, tranquil place, the garden is peaceful and really lovely to look out on. Michael greeted us on arrival and was so helpful with advice about places to visit. If you need to get away from it all but still be in comfort, this is the place!

What a wonderful location and gorgeous little cabin! The perfect base for a getaway in the area. The hosts are brilliant and the hot tub was all fired up for our first night under the stars- absolute bliss! Well equipped cabin which is cosy and comfy. Overall we had a wonderful stay!

We had the most relaxing and memorable stay at this charming cabin retreat while celebrating a birthday. Our highlights were stargazing from the hot tub and playing board games in the garden.The cabin itself was well-equipped, and the surrounding area was perfect for dog walks. We recommend the Garden Shop for brunch and the pubs in Colyton for drinks.

Loved the location - very peaceful. The night sky as amazing - great place to star gaze. The hut was warm and tucked away from the main house so it felt secluded. The hot tub was fab - once we got used to how it worked! We loved our stay.

It was an ideal place for a quiet getaway for me and my girlfriend. The cabin was cosy with a great little log burner, even in the time of year we visited it stayed super warm. Very much worth it

We had such a fantastic time at the cabin. So quiet and beautiful. I have a very stressful job and for the first time in years I was able to totally unwind. There is everything you need at the cabin for a short break. I even read a couple of books which I haven't done for fun in a long time. The hot tub was an absolute luxury, very efficient, and my advice is have faith, give it time to do it's thing it gets very warm.

Amazing owners who greet you on arrival to show you around, then leave you in peace. The hot tub was already being primed when we arrived (bliss). Everything was just Amazing, thank you so very much.

Lovely place to stay to enjoy some time away from a busy life style, hot tub was great!! We where there each night to relax after a exploring day around the coast line , the cabin got everything you need, very clean and tidy, nice decoration , sweet lovely place!

If you want to get away to a little piece of heaven - then this is the place! Amazingly kind and helpful hosts, beautiful location, cosy cabin, relaxing hot tub and just pure bliss. Tucked away in an apple orchard on the farm, even on the hottest days it stayed nice and cool. For winter times, the indoor stove will keep you nice and warm. So much better than we expected. Thank you!

A peaceful cabin in the woods with all you could need.

This cabin was really well thought out and designed, there was absolutely everything you needed to make your stay comfortable and all the cooking utensils, crockery, glasses and cutlery needed, the microwave (cooker) and electric ring was perfect for everything and was more than adequate for 2 people for a week. We had not realised how close the public footpaths and river were and this was a lovely surprise. The hot tub was brilliant and plenty of decking area.

This property went above and beyond our expectations and it was like being in a mini nature reserve, being able to watch Wrens, Thrushes, Blackbirds and a squirrel family the views amazing it is a little slice of paradise. Cannot wait to go back

Lovely accommodation in a beautiful area. Lots of walks nearby and a good place to come back and escape to. I struggled a bit with the wood burner hot tub as not used a wood burner before but I did mange it in the end and was lovely to sit in of an evening and do a bit of star gazing.

Absolutely stunning ! We had the perfect stay at this beautiful place the owner was very friendly and helpful.. it’s situated in the most beautiful place ! Would definitely recommend.. perfect for the dogs and if you like walking it’s the perfect place to stay

The cabin is beautifully located and well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. It is just a short idyllic walk behind the farmhouse and along the river to Colyton.
We recommend taking the short walk and visiting the Kingfisher pub for a delicious lunch or evening meal, and the Bear Bread Bakery for fresh scones and croissants etc, although you'll need to get here early in the day if you want a fresh loaf of sourdough!
There are some amazing scenic country walks that are printed and stored in the folder for use, that will take you to nearby towns and picnic sites.
Michael and Fiona give the perfect balance between privacy and ensuring you stay fully equipped, they will even set up the hot tub ready for your arrival if requested. The hot tub and log burners are easy to use and perfect for drizzly days and dark evenings.
We had the most magical time, we have already recommended to friends, and we will definitely be back again!

We had such a lovely stay at Old Orchard! The cabin was very comfortable, but the best part was definitely the view from the hot tub outside! Seeing the stars at night whilst drinking wine in the hot tub was so lovely- I could not recommend this place more.

Cannot recommend enough. Was a perfect weekend away - the cottage was exactly as described, in a beautiful area and great facilities. Loved the hot tub (with very clear instructions on how to work everything!)

We had an amazing stay and will definitely be returning again in the future, everything has been thought of. The cabin was clean, cosy, well equipped and in a beautiful location and prior to our arrival Michael had kindly set up the hot tub ready to go as requested so we were able to start our relaxing weekend straight away. Perfect!!

Nice Place To Stay But Ruined By The Attitude Of The Owner. A Few Dishes Were Left Due To None Being Cleaned When We Arrived Hence Why They Were Left. Quite Clear They Aren't Cleaned Between Guests. 'Was pretty shitty of you to leave your washing up for us to deal with. How old are you?' Was The Text Message Received Having Left The Property With The Only Contact With Us & The Owner When Leaving Asking Where His Dog Was. This Was Extremely Poor & Ruined The Stay. Avoid.

Lovely location. Only being 2 miles from seaton sea side was fantastic! Cottage was very cosy and relaxing. Just the holiday break we needed for me the fiancée and the dog ?????????????

Lovely, rustic and quaint. Perfect escape and our dog loved it. But do ask for hot tub to be filled for arrival if that's what you would like. We couldn't use it the first night as it needed to be filled with water and heated.

Little gem of a place. The cabin is very comfortable and included the hot tub which works by a log fire. This was very easy to use so don't be put off. The facilities in the cabin are just right for your stay but don't expect to cook a roast dinner as only one hot plate and microwave. Plenty of very friendly local pubs for eating great foods. The cabin is tucked away at the top of the Apple Orchard and the approach is up through a garden and gravel path. The garden seems neglected and I believe would enhance the Cabin by a little tlc.

The Orchard Cabin is in a beautiful location, set back in an orchard high up with amazing views. It's a short walk along a river to the small town of Colyton which has a butcher, fishmonger and baker as well as weekly pizza van and fish and chip shop. It is also only a few miles from a lovely stretch of coast. While we enjoyed our stay, we didn't find the cabin particularly dog-friendly and it did feel cramped once we had brought all of ours and our dog's stuff inside. It's great if you want to spend lots of time outdoors but if the weather is bad, it isn't very comfortable to be inside with just a bed and some foldaway chairs to sit on. There wasn't much space for our dog either. However the hot tub was lovely and relaxing especially on the long June evenings.

Lovely little cabin which has everything you need for a relaxing, get away from it all break. Owners were helpful and provided us with extra wood when asked. Hot tub was fantastic and as long as you planned your time on the first day heating it up then the next day it was easy to get it back up to temperature. Lovely walk along the river to Colyton and excellent views from the cabin.

Would highly recommend orchard cabin for a peaceful get away in fantastic countryside, near plenty of places to visit....if you want to make memories this is the place...

Just back from a lovely stay at The Old Orchard Cabin. We made full use of the hot tub, it was a great place to relax and just listen and watch the many birds around us. The log burner was very effective and the cabin retained its heat really well. We explored the area, visiting Seaton on the tram from Colyton Station and then walked to Beer, which is really worth a visit! Spent a cloudy day wandering around Lyme Regis and looking for fossils, some brave souls were swimming in the sea, but too cold for me at this time of year! A great base for exploring the area.

This is Sanctuary, apple trees and birdsong. It’s Devon’s rolling hills and riverside walks, it’s freshly laid eggs and homemade apple juice, it’s hot tubs under starry sky, beach walks and market days and comfy beds in which to watch the view. It’s really quite perfect.

Our stay at the Old Orchard Cabin was just perfect, we are already looking at booking again.

We have said it all

From the warm greeting at the farm house, to the walk up through the Orchard to the cabin, we knew we'd booked to stay at a very special place.
A wonderful place to unwind from city life, the cabin is well thought-out. Small, but perfectly formed. We managed to cook very decent meals using the single-ringed hob and combi microwave/oven.
The hot tub was an absolute joy!

This was by far the most beautiful and relaxing setting you could ask for. The hosts were perfect, just left us to it all week but we’re on hand if you needed them. Perfectly located and close to Beer and Lyme Regis which were both beautiful places to go visit. I would highly recommend everyone book this place!

We had a beautiful few days staying at Old Orchard Cabin. It’s incredibly peaceful. The wood fired hot tub in the dark, looking at the stars, hearing the river in the valley below is magical. Dogs have to be kept on a lead as the owners have livestock, but there are plenty of walks nearby. We would definitely recommend this location. The cabin is on an incline so hard to reach for the not so able bodied, but we felt it added to the fun!

Lovely place to get away for a few days. Great location with excellent walks from the doorstep and beautiful coast just down the road. The cabin was perfect- cosy and with everything you needed. The cabin was beautifully located and hidden away nicely, with stunning views to wake up to. Great idea to have a log burner, it made it a little more magical and kept us cosy on the chilly evenings. The hot tub was perfect to relax in after spending the day out exploring. I highly recommend this cosy little retreat, perfect for a relaxing getaway and great for doggies too.

Waking up in the morning to that amazing view, sat in the hot tub at night counting the stars and listening to the wildlife was truly special. Would recommend this place for anyone wishing to unwind and switch off from daily life. Ideally situated for exploring surrounding areas and beaches, Beer and Sidmouth are a must to visit.

Old orchard cabin was the perfect getaway for my partner's birthday. Extremely comfortable and well appointed cabin, and the hot tub with views of the Devon countryside was amazing. Lovely welcoming hosts too, who made sure we had what we needed when we arrived. Have recommended to multiple friends already!

We had a fantastic weekend. We went there to relax and get away from the daily grind and that is exactly what we did. The cabin was perfect, the owners we're very friendly and the hot tub was great. I would highly recommend this little cabin to anyone just wanting to escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

The owners really have thought of everything. The cottage was warm and cosy and everything we could have needed was provided. A lovely welcoming touch with homemade goodies and a little milk, tea and coffee in case we hadn't shopped yet. The owners were on hand if needed but didn't intrude. The cottage is ideally situated to explore the area with some lovely walks on the doorstep. Thoroughly enjoyed the visit would love to come again.

We had a great stay. The location is lovely and the setting and farm beautiful. Facilities were great, the hob ring worked well and alongside the combi microwave, cooking was made easy. We loved the hot tub, it took a while to work out when best to heat up the water, without making it too cold or too hot by the time we wanted to enjoy it, but once you get the hang of it, it’s great. My recommendation to other guests would be to take a pair of slip on shoes such as flip flops for accessing the hot tub in the rain, so you don’t dirty the floor inside. It was lovely having the horses in the field next to us and being surrounded by Apple trees was beautiful. The host was great, helpful and informative, he had a perfect balance of letting us know where he was if we needed him but let us enjoy our stay privately and peacefully. I would definitely recommend this holiday to someone who wants a peaceful stay in the countryside, but with quick access to nearby towns. Definitely worth a visit to Lyme Regis and West Bay, two local towns. Overall our stay was lovely and we would love to come back again. Thank you.

This cottage is excellent, it has everything you could want. Sitting in the hot tub looking at the stars each night made our holiday. We wanted to do the walk along the river to town but our dog Billy is to old .

Fantastic cabin with great views across the orchard and countryside, cosy with everything you need. perfect spot for exploring the surrounding area, with walks on your doorstep and coastal paths and beeches just a short drive away.
The hot tub is superb and great to relax in after exploring beautiful Devon.

Lovely cabin in an idyllic location, very well equipped. There are lots of things too do nearby and a wood fired hot tub to relax in at the end of the day . The hosts were very welcoming without being imposing , we have already recommended this gem to friends and family and hope to return in the near future.

We booked Orchard Cabin as we wanted somewhere secluded and private. We were not disappointed. The Cabin is a glamping experience, so don't expect it to be fully home from home, but is is clean and warm and has the basics covered.

And That hot tub, oh That hot tub. You full it with spring water, so no need for chemicals, which is a luxury in itself. The view over the valley, just adds to the charm.

Our hosts were helpful and always available without being imposing.

We spent a week at the Cabin and left wanting more. There is lots to explore nearby, but balance with time at the Cabin, where you can slow the days right down.

We always enjoy our holidays booked with Classic Cottages. After each and every one, we vow to return to the same place, but to date we never have. This is different. We are already looking to book next June and sooner too if we can.

I've just got back from my stay at Old Orchard Cabin, I had the most amazing break and feel totally relaxed. The cabin was perfect, stunning location and fully equipped. The additional extras such as the bubbly in the fridge and the chocolate biscuits were delicious and very thoughtful! The hot tub was a luxury and I thoroughly enjoyed relaxing in it, watching the sunset and starlit sky whilst the miniature horses grazed happily next to me in the field. The owners were lovely and very accomadating, I have already passed on details to two friends who were amazed at my photos I took. Highly recommended for a relaxing break and to reconnect with nature. My dog loved it too and there are some fantastic dog walks right from the cabin! My only wish is that I didn't have to leave. I have major holiday blues now and will definitely return one day! Thank you so much, this break was exactly what I was looking for and more. Louise and Jasper the dog :)

Snug and cosy. Well equipped. We had a great time. Being dog friendly was a massive bonus. The hot tub was great, we now realise that it takes longer to heat up in the winter due to colder water starting temperature but we got it to just the right temperature and thoroughly enjoyed our soaks.
Highy recommend.

The cabin is in a beautiful location, we particularly enjoyed waking up to our friendly neighbours (the ducks and ponies!) Michael & Fiona had thought of everything to make our time relaxing and enjoyable, including all the littles things we could possibly need. The cabin itself is well decorated (we very much appreciated the Christmas decorations!) and incredibly cosy - we had the log burner going at every opportunity! The hot tub was fantastic after a long day exploring the nearby towns and villages, particularly at night under the stars.
We will be recommending this to friends and hope to visit again!

It absolutely exceeded mine and my partners expectations. Michael was a fantastic host and even as a winter break it could not have been more perfect. The cabin and hot tub were immaculate and everything was finished to a very high spec. Even the locals in Colyton were friendly and it was a break away we’ll never forget.

The hosts were amazing, the views and especially the hot tub was a massive hit with us, the whole experience was brilliant, I would recommend to friends and family and have had loads of compliments on pictures I have put on social media asking where it was as it was so beautiful, I loved it here and would definitely come back again, perfect was to spend a relaxing few days away for my partners birthday!
P.S - even better as we were able to take our dog with us, that’s a big thing for me

Great location, it was lovely to be away from all the restrictions you have when staying in a Hotel. The circular walk to Beer, Seaton and back to Colyton was simply beautiful .

We absolutely loved our stay at the Cottage. It is a cosy, clean and tranquil place. Michael and Fiona have quite clearly thought of all the little details which makes this a perfect weekend or weeks getaway.
If you need some peace and quiet but don't want to plant yourself in the back and beyond this place is perfect - it has the perfect punt of privacy but isn't to far from the farmhouse if you need any assistance.
The cottage itself is gorgeous but the surroundings really make it extra special. We are looking forward to returning - thank you for such a wonderful stay

The place is great, host was fantastic. Not a bad thing to say about it.

We loved our stay at Orchard Cabin, it really did live up to our expectations and beyond. With thoughtful owners, the cabin is very well equipped with lots of lovely little extras such as fresh eggs from the farm’s hens and a scrummy home made jam. The wood burning stove is the star of the show and as much fun to get going as it is to spend time in! Colyton is a lovely little town, with delightful walks on your doorstep and it’s far enough away from the crowds but close enough to be beside the sea in no time. Would love to return.
