Old Orchard Cabin

Sleeps 2 | dog friendly

Luxury glamping in Devon: Relax, refresh, recharge - what better way to get back to your old self than in this superb romantic retreat with incredible views, a cosy cabin and even a hot tub? (Sighs with envy).

Take a deep breath, because you're going to be amazed. The views from this luxury cabin are truly superb - across an ancient orchard (which a pretty path leading to the cabin takes you up through) and a 15th Century farmhouse and over the rolling, green and gorgeous Coly valley. Simply beautiful. From your very own wood-fired hot tub you can sip a glass of bubbly in the bubbles and watch the swallows swoop and dive, and then, as night falls, listen to the hooting of owls as the stars start to twinkle one by one. Could glamping get any better than this?

Inside your bespoke cabin you'll find everything you need for your back-to-nature getaway, including a toasty wood burner (great at any time of year, and logs are provided, by the way) and a carefully designed open-plan living space. The fitted kitchen boasts an induction hob, a combination microwave oven and a fridge, there's a king-sized bed that's oh-so comfy, and a cute shower-room with a real hot shower and a proper flushing loo. No uncomfortable middle-of-the-night treks to the washblock for you. Outside, your very own terrace is the perfect spot for losing yourself in a good book with a cup of hot of hot coffee - that's if you can tear yourself away from the views - while in the evenings you'll want to light up the fire-pit barbecue and cook the delicious provisions you've found at one of the many nearby farm shops.

Out and About

Expect the picturesque: this is East Devon's Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, after all, and there's loads to explore. From Old Orchard Cabin you can stroll along the river to the Saxon town of Colyton, where you'll find a variety of shops and pubs; from there, why not catch the electric tram along the beautiful Axe Valley to Seaton, gateway to the World Heritage Jurassic Coast? Alternatively, within half an hour's drive you'll find all sorts of delightful towns, villages and fishing ports, including Lyme Regis, Sidmouth, Budleigh Salterton, Bridport, Charmouth and Seatown, many of them great destinations for fossil hunters, and all of them lovely places to have a wander and enjoy the incredible scenery. You might decide to take to the water and hire a boat or a kayak, or go surfing, waterskiing or fishing, or perhaps book yourself onto a cookery course at River Cottage HQ. From active to relaxing, you really are spoilt for choice with things to see and do in this fabulous corner of heavenly Devon.
