Shepherd's Hut in Devon: Stop right now! If you're looking for peace, quiet, tranquillity and solitude, your search is over. Stargazy Sky is the perfect spot for a getaway. It's time to recharge your batteries.
General
In a magical, off-the-beaten-track location, our gorgeous shepherd's hut sits in its very own meadow next to a copse of mature trees and near a tiny brook with a small herd of Ruby Red Devon cows grazing in the fields around. Talk about picturesque. High up above Devon's Axe Valley, and just a few miles from the Jurassic Coast, it has incredible views over lovely countryside as far as the eye can see.
A superbly crafted, hand-made beauty with all the glamping luxuries you'd expect (and probably more) Stargazy Sky boasts a super-comfy double bed, a fab ensuite shower room - with a flushing loo, proper hot shower and even a heated towel rail - and a cute kitchen-area that boasts an induction hob, combination microwave/grill and a fridge with an ice box (comes in handy for that gin and tonic). There's even a quirky, spring-fed outdoor shower for anyone brave enough to try. At Stargazy Sky there are no demands on your time: you can slow right down and snuggle up next to the log burner, watch TV or a box set, lose yourself in a book or wrap up in a blanket and spend a romantic evening by the fire-pit outside. When in season, you can buy packs of the Owner's own beef or pork to cook up a feast of a BBQ (fruit, veg and eggs are often available, too). While you grill, sit back, listen to the birdsong and watch in wonder as the stars come out one by one in the huge sky above you. Perfect.
Out and About
There's so much to do near Stargazy Sky, both nearby and just a little bit further afield. Right next door is the amazing Trinity Hill nature reserve, and within walking distance are the renowned River Cottage, home to cookery classes, festivals, fairs and fabulous dining, and the 300-acre organic Trill Farm, where you'll find lunches and suppers, a shop, courses and a range of special events. Hop in the car for the short trip to elegant Lyme Regis, or pack your bucket and spade and set off to the pebbly beach at Seaton or any of the classic Devon seaside towns of Branscombe, Sidmouth, Beer and Budleigh Salterton.
Layout
Steps up to open plan living-room with kitchen, dining and bedroom areas with wood-burner, TV/DVD player, 2 ring induction hob, combination oven (microwave and grill), fridge (with ice-box), toaster, kettle, radio and double bed. Shower-room with shower, WC and wash-basin.
Important Information
A baby under the age of 12 months in a Moses basket is welcome, however there is unfortunately not enough room for a travel cot in the shepherd's hut and therefore it cannot accommodate 2 adults plus a baby over the age of 12 months (although a single adult is welcome to stay with a baby/child over this age, if they are happy to share the double bed).
Availability, reservations and pricing: From £55 - £103 per night
Bed linen and towels are included in the price. There are no extra charges for cots or high chairs where they are listed in the property description on the website.
A non-refundable booking fee of £40 is payable per booking.
