Stargazy Sky Shepherd's Hut

Had the absolute best stay at the Stargazy Sky Shepherds hut! It is the perfect cute and cozy getaway, with everything you could possibly need provided. Not to mention, the night sky does not disappoint!! Would highly recommend this stay.

This was our 2nd visit to stargazy and will not be our last. This has and will continue to be the hut that we compare all other's by as it has everything you need, well designed to make the most of the space, lovely and cosy with the most amazing views!
The swing seat is a lovely place to sit with a glass or a brew in hand and the fire pit/BBQ is great for those nights of stargazing. The hut really does have the perfect name as the night sky's are just the best. Visits from all the wildlife and Twiggy the dog are equally wonderful too.
Time seems to slow down and shoulders drop as soon as you arrive, just wish it was a little closer for us to visit more often for a reset.

The property was beautiful and lived up to expectations. The host was lovely, friendly and very helpful whilst giving us privacy. The grounds and surrounding area are stunning.

Beautiful quiet location but near enough to local attractions with lots to do. Amazing views and a real bonus for wildlife enthusiasts.
Very comfortable shepherd’s hut with all the right facilities. Would highly recommend, even the cold outdoor shower(very refreshing!). Although I think we will have to come back and use the cosy looking log burner.

Stargazy Sky was a perfect get away from it all retreat, but still within easy reach of many Dorset and East Devon beauty spots. The hut was nestled into a secluded spot and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. Fresh eggs and milk from the owners’ farm were a thoughtful extra and I was made to feel welcome by Mel, who popped down to check that I had everything I needed. I look forward to visiting again.

This is a lovely tranquil spot with fabulous views - perfect at sunset. The Shepherds Hut is well equipped and the hosts friendly and helpful.

Had another great stay at Stargazy, our third visit! It is an ideal place to stay to travel in all directions as there is so much to see and do.

The Stargazy Shepherd’s hut is a perfect get away in a beautiful part of the country. The hosts were lovely, helping us to settle in quickly, whilst also providing us with delicious home-grown goods. The beautifully decorated hut also has everything you need to have a lovely, relaxing stay and the cooking facilities are great to help you feast whilst watching an incredible sunset from the hut. Situated not far from the south west coast path, the stay was topped off by the incredible walks and beautiful scenery. Thank you for having us.

We had such a nice weekend staying here, the shepherds hut was well equipped and everything we expected. The location was beautiful and the owner was very polite and respectful of our privacy. Even though it was cold outside keeping the hut warm was easy with an abundance of firewood. Very happy with our trip :) Rowan and Anna.

It must be good as this was our second holiday at Stargazy. Secluded and out of the way but an ideal base to explore the Jurassic coast and more.

I can’t imagine a more perfect property for a short break to get away from it all. Close enough to the coast and a few towns if you want it, but far away enough if you don’t. Walking distance to River Cottage for courses, food, coffee, and cake if you fancy it. Well equipped, cosy, & idyllic. This place is amazing.

Fantastic well appointed & comfortable place to stay, very comfy bed, surprisingly great storage, cosy with log burner or radiator, spacious enough for two, with gorgeous views & everything we needed for a relaxing break. Although the setting is quiet and pretty, the property wasn't very clean, particularly in the kitchen. It was difficult to use the tiny fridge as the storage in the door was broken. The cold showers were not enjoyable! We paid £337 for 2 nights and didn't feel that it was worth this. There was not even a pint of milk to welcome us, which would be the least that we would expect for the price!

If you want to get away from it all for a few days in an idyllic location then this the Shepherds Hut for you! Compact and cosy with everything you need for a comfortable stay.

If you fancy walking around a few independent shops with the beach in the background then a short drive to Lyme Regis or Sidmouth will do nicely.

Beautiful Jurassic coastlines all around and lovely long (or short) walks along the coastal paths.

Fishing from the beach at Lyme and Beer is great fun.

This is my idea of heaven!

What a great way to spend our first week from NZ visiting relatives who live locally. The weather was great meaning outdoor area was well used and the view looking westwards over east Devon beautiful. The location gives this feeling of peaceful isolation but knowing you are five minutes from A35. Would certainly recommend.

Good location, quiet and easy access to the coast.

We relaxed from the moment we arrived, the hut was everything we wanted it to be and the views were stunning. The hosts were very friendly and took time to chat to us, answering all our questions and sharing their knowledge with enthusiasm. We will definitely be back here in the not too distant future.

Stargazy is the perfect place if you’re looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The location is serene and the views amazing. There are plenty of things to do and places to visit nearby but you could quite easily stay at Stargazy and just relax.

The hut is not only in the most perfect location for enjoying peace and quiet but also the most fantastic sunsets and wonderful hosts.
The hut itself has everything you need and is comfortable and cosy.
The local area is fab and I honestly can’t find one single thing to fault.

We enjoyed a lovely relaxing stay at Stargazy Sky Shepherd’s Hut.

It was set in a very peaceful and secluded location with far reaching views.

The hut was clean, comfortable and well appointed with everything we needed for a short stay.

Given it was January and the weather was cold and wet, the hut was very warm and cosy when using the log burner.

It was close to River Cottage where we enjoyed a seasonal feast, which we’d thoroughly recommend.

We will certainly be looking to make a return visit!

Stargazy hut sits in its own little meadow with lovely views of the surrounding area. It is perfectly positioned to catch the evening sun from the wonderfully comfy outdoor chair, and the view of the sunset is divine. A great location to explore the East Devon AONB and the nearby Jurassic Coast. Melanie was very welcoming and kind. We had a wonderful holiday at Stargazy.

Stargazy is a very special place to stay. Set in beautiful grounds with your own private meadow area and stunning views.

A lovely little place to stay in a secluded spot with wonderful views. The journey to find it is an adventure in itself too! The owners are very friendly and keep Stargazy well maintained and stocked with pretty much everything you could need (except the food, obviously). A little gem.

Our stay at Stargazy was beautiful, of the seven nights we were treated to five gorgeous sunsets. The other two evenings although chilly outside we were snug and cozy inside.
If peace and tranquility are what's needed then this is the place.
Lovely walks to Axminster and certainly a walk to River Cottage Café is deserving of the hearty breakfast.
All in all we will certainly be returning ??

It was a lovely stay at the hut. The hosts Charles & Melanie are very kind and generous people. Only positive vibes at this place! A nice comfy bed. Kitchen & bathroom are perfect equipped. The woodburner did make the evenings realy cosy and the outside view is mindblowing.

Perfect in every way. I'm pretty sure I could happily live out the rest of my days here. On the doorstep for River Cottage experiences, and Lyme Regis is such a beautiful seaside town with some lovely independent shops and beautiful coastal walks.

We loved staying here, it is a great spot, peaceful with a nice view.
The hut is very thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed. The bed linen was lovely, there were sharp knives in the kitchen and so on (also its great to have a proper indoor toilet).
We very much hope to return.

Cosy pleasant holiday in a remote natural place on Earth

This little shepherd's hut is furnished and equipped to a very high standard. Cosy inside with a lovely comfy bed, and a pretty outdoor area complete with fire pit. A warm welcome from the owners, fresh farm eggs and plums were an added bonus. Perfectly positioned for a tranquil stay, ideal place to relax and unwind, but close enough to the hustle and bustle of the local seaside towns as well. We enjoyed every moment of our three night stay and hope to return to this little haven.

A wonderful holiday - just what was needed after the madness of the past 19 months. Mel, Charles and the Pups were the most welcoming hosts and we really enjoyed our stay.

The hut was clean, tidy, warm and spacious - the bed was incredibly comfortable and the facilities were super.

We enjoyed lots of day trips and yummy bbq's when the weather allowed us to!

This Shepherds Hut is like a little slice of heaven. Small and compact, but perfectly cosy and comfortable for even the coolest nights. I stayed for a week but would have been happy to just live there permanently!

Stargazy Sky was exactly how it looked in the pictures, beautifully kept and super cosy! It was perfect for a relaxed stay visiting the Jurassic coast every day and coming back to barbecue on the fire pit in the evenings. Well located for Lyme Regis and other seaside villages nearby with a useful Tesco 5mins drive from the hut. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for chilled holiday of walks, watching films and sitting out watching the sun go down.

A wonderful, cosy, elegant retreat. Would recommend in a heartbeat

We had a lovely stay at Stargazy Sky shepherds Hut. It’s the perfect place to relax and unwind. We loved the cosy feel, especially when the log burner was lit and for us the advantage of having a TV was the perfect excuse to snuggle up on the bed, watch Strictly Come Dancing regardless of the weather outside.

Perfect place for peace and tranquillity, the owners (Mel & Charles) were very warm & friendly and informative. Lovely to have the sound of nothing but wildlife especially our friendly owl!
The hut is well equipped and very comfortable and having water from a spring to drink and bath in has been wonders for our skin. The duck eggs and fig preserve and apples that were left for us by the hosts were a lovely touch, fir preserve was amazing (made by the owners).
The hut is on the grounds of the owners property, you are very secluded and left to enjoy your stay, and soak up the views, secluded, quiet and tranquil

Just an excellent base to explore the surrounding area.
We enjoyed our experience at River Cottage HQ and dining at River Cottage Canteen.
Just a short drive to Lyme Regis and into Bridport where we experienced the Folk Festival and market stalls

This experience was something new to us, and we were a little unsure when we booked. But wow, it was truly exceptional. One of the best, if not thee best, short vacation we have had. The setting is magnificent, made in heaven. The owners were perfect. And as for the Sheperd’s Hut, we instantly fell in love. The evenings were spectacular, watching the sun go down, then sitting by the fire pit under the stars. If you want to really get away from it all, then the Stargazy Sky Sheperd’s Hut is an absolute must.

Delightful rural location in complete privacy. Excellent centre for touring North Deven and Dorset. Just lovely.

Amazing place with everything you need!

Perfect little hut in a remote local but close enough to civilisation if you wanted it. Waking up and opening the stable doors to the valley below even on a wet day was perfect. We would have been happy enough to be rained in in such a snug and warm hut. Didn't want to leave and cant wait return.

The shepherds hut was wonderful. A delight to wake up seeing deer outside the window whilst enjoying a cup of coffee. The hut is fairly small but ideal for 2 people and because excellent use has been made of all space you had everything you could need for a self catering holiday in a peaceful location.

Rating at the Stargazer Shepherds Hut was a wonderful experience, ideally situated to access the Jurassic Coastline, set in beautiful surroundings, peace and tranquility assured. Cat say enough good things about our stay .

The Shepherds hut is a magical place. Well located for walks and near to beaches and towns to visit. Definitely would recommend Ford Abbey to wander around the lovely gardens and Rousden Village Bakery for a fabulous breakfast.

I also did a firepit cookery course and River Cottage which was great fun.

Stargazy Sky Shepherds Hut is a little Gem . Everything was perfect and it is exactly how it looks in the pictures the Helen and Charles are really lovely people and there dogs are lovely as well .

A wonderful secluded, beautiful space both inside and outside the hut. Ideal for an individual’s or couple’s hideaway retreat.

Really lovely comfortable property in an idyllic location.
Extremely we'll appointed with excellent quality furnishings and accessories.

The isolated location, friendliness of owners, the view and the outside woodburner. The inside was very well fitted out and, although small, everything that was needed was there. In addition, we were able to purchase some steaks (from the owner's rare breed cattle) which were positively delicious. Also there were complimentary eggs (duck and bantams) which were beautifully fresh. Lots of wildlife around and very quiet and restful. Within easy distance of a lot of excellent places to visit in Devon, Dorset and Somerset.

We had a really wonderful stay at Stargazy Sky. Welcoming, yet unintrusive hosts, the hut was the perfect place to get away from it all and unwind. It is small but perfectly formed. We would absolutely recommend a stay here!

The Shepherd's hut was beautifully finished, clean, and it had everything and more than expected during our stay. The owners have really thought about what is needed and it really is a home away from home. The location is stunning, the views were just breathtaking. The farm situation is also lovely and very easily walkable into Axminster. I will definitely recommend this place to friends and family. We loved it so much we are returning for new years eve. Absolutely loved our stay at Stargazey hut - its small but perfectly formed and beautifully kitted out. The location is ideal for exploring the Jurassic coast and beyond.

Great place for a away from it all break, but near enough to shops and attractions too should you want them.

A beautifully designed and decorated shepherds hut hidden down country lanes. The perfect place to unwind and get away from it all. It was comfy and cosy and had everything we needed for a relaxing break. The nearby towns of Lyme Regis, Beer and Sidmouth were great seaside towns to visit for the day and to stock up with provisions. The evenings were spent by the fire pit and BBQ whilst watching the brown cows meaner through the fields. A truly great way to unwind.

Wow! Friendly welcome, Beautifully built furnished, comfortable, qwerky, lovely Shephard hut with cosey log fire, comfy bed. The stars at night and the views were magical. The owners made us feel like extended family living at the bottom of the garden, nothing was too much trouble. We arrived New Year's Day after a wonderful NYE in Lymme Regis. Waiting for us in the fridge were local produced beers/ciders, wine, champagne, bacon eggs, an Amazing beef provincial stew,home made from the gorgeous Red Cows.
Even though it was frosty and cold being January the log burner kept us warm. It was so pretty and breathtaking going for walks.
Definitely recommend a stay here and we will definitely be returning soon. Love Paul & Alex.
