Step Inside

Be prepared to fall in love from the moment you step inside this heavenly glamping abode. Every inch of Dart Safari boasts attention to detail; from its gorgeous soft furnishings to the charmingly rustic kitchen. Grab some fresh local produce, cook up a family feast over the magnificent wood-burning stove and enjoy around the sociable dining table. After, keep the flickering flames burning and stay toasty inside as you reminisce over fond memories. The twin room is perfect for little ones or friends and there is a snug ‘cabin style’ double bed nestled between the communal area and twin room; a cosy little den for the perfect night’s rest. There is a beautifully presented restroom with WC and wash-basin and a separate shower-room, perfect for freshening up after a day of adventures. You’ll discover the main bedroom behind the kitchen, complete with a sumptuous king-size bed, adorned with luxury soft linens. Wake to the sound of birdsong and head out onto the decking for that all important morning brew…

Outdoors

The raised decking is an idyllic spot to enjoy a golden pot of coffee or afternoon tipple. Complete with comfy wooden loungers and blankets, you’ll want to stay here until the moon and stars appear. It overlooks the large meadow and rolling hills of the south Devon countryside. Its beautifully rural location is oh so special and it doesn’t stop there... Head down the steps to reach your very own bubbling hot tub alongside the sweet picnic bench and rustic firepit, perfect for alfresco cooking! As the sun dips beyond the hills and golden, pink hues fill the sky, Dart Safari becomes even more enchanting. Toast marshmallows with the little ones and once they’re asleep, slip into the dreamy hot tub for a romantic evening under the stars. Here, you will create magical memories that last a lifetime.

Nestled near the quirky town of Totnes, you are in reachable distance to all the beauty that south Devon has to offer. Wander through the independent shops of Totnes, stop at The Bull Inn for some delicious local food or head to the bustling weekly market on Fridays and Saturdays and pick up some treats to enjoy back at your hideaway. The picture-perfect town of Brixham is a short distance away. Visit the famous Golden Hind, spend a day at Breakwater Beach or take a refreshing dip in Shoalstone seawater pool. Once you’ve worked up an appetite, you’ll discover plenty of eateries nearby. Why not stop at one of the traditional harbourside pubs for a pint overlooking the water? You can also hop on a ferry from Brixham Harbour to the lovely town of Torquay.

With Dartmoor National Park and the South Hams countryside just a stone’s throw away, outdoor enthusiasts will be in their element here. The small village of Stoke Gabiel is very picturesque and leads you right to the edge of the River Dart. Go kayaking on the river and be sure to stop for a bite to eat at The River Shack. Keen cyclists will love Haldon Forest, with its variety of cycling trails and bikes available to hire. The combined riverboat and steam railway trip between Totnes and Dartmouth makes for a lovely day out. The National Trust’s Compton Castle is just a short stroll away from the safari tent and is definitely worth a visit. However you decide to spend your days, you will love nothing more than returning back to your peaceful retreat for a fireside meal.

Extra Information

There are three other safari tents on site; Yealm Safari (5240), Bovey Safari (5333)and Tamar Safari (5334) as well as Brownscombe Cabin (5228), Brownscombe Roundhouse (5225) and Brownscombe Tabernacle (2907). You are assured plenty of privacy during your stay and each hideaway has its own outdoor space. En-route to the tent, you will find the owner's shop, Brownscombe Larder, where you can stock up on daily essentials such as bread, milk and eggs. You can even purchase a local gift to take home to someone special, as there's a range of amazing local crafts to admire. If you wish, the owner can provide barbecue hampers and delicious casseroles served hot in a le creuset pot. Just pick up each night from the barn and take back to the Yealm to enjoy (order before your holiday).

Additionally, there is a games room with table-tennis and table-football onsite (shared with the other guests). You will also find The Lodge where you can book a table to enjoy Fondue by the fire, as well as the Brownscombe Barn where pizza nights are hosted in the summer months. If you fancy a little pamper during your getaway, you can book in with the onsite beauty therapist for a relaxing massage, manicure and for other various spa treatments. There really is something for everyone here, but if you do prefer just simply relaxing in your serene sanctuary, we wouldn't blame you!

Wi-Fi is available in The Barn and in The Lodge.

Please note the extra onsite facilities such as; the games room, pizza barn, The Lodge, the shop (including hampers and hot meals), plus the beauty therapist are only available during the peak season. Please speak with the owner direct to find out more.

Bed linen and towels are included in the price. There are no extra charges for cots or high chairs where they are listed in the property description on the website.

A non-refundable booking fee of £40 is payable per booking.
