If you're looking for a retreat back to nature with a luxurious touch, Blue Cedar Shepherd's Hut is the hideaway for you. It is utterly dreamy and oh so romantic. Inside, you will be greeted with a warm, calming atmosphere and the most beautiful features. Perched in a gorgeous meadow and just a short distance from wonderful Dartmoor, the location couldn't be more idyllic. Not to mention, there is a dreamy alfresco bathtub waiting for you on your private decking… bliss!
Step inside your pocket-sized paradise and take a moment to sink into the warm, welcoming ambience of the hut. No detail has been spared as beautiful features run throughout this heavenly hideaway. The lavish king-size bed is simply a dream. Spend your evenings gazing up at the stars through the stargazing window above the bed. As morning arrives, you awake to stunning countryside views. Open the double, stable doors and let the crisp air flow through the hideaway. Why not treat yourself to a delicious breakfast in bed, watching the natural world go by. The kitchen is superbly equipped for two with an electric oven, induction hob, kettle and fridge with small freezer compartment. Rustle up a romantic meal and enjoy at the intimate dining table. The stylish ensuite is situated to the right of the hideaway, perfect for freshening up after exploring your gorgeous surroundings.
The outside space is just as idyllic. Situated in a pretty meadow, wander up the path to your bespoke abode. From the moment you arrive you will be transported into a magical fairytale. The path has been sculpted with lush trees to ensure the natural surroundings remain unspoilt. Don't forget to say hello to the friendly, inquisitive alpacas upon arrival! Not only is there ample outside space to enjoy, but there are also two beautiful seating areas. At the front of the hut is a lovely seating area, complete with festoon lighting, adding to the magic of the area. Here, you may enjoy your morning coffee listening to birdsong or your favourite tipple as the sun dips beyond the horizon. To the back of the hideaway, you will find the secluded decking area, complete with two lovely sun loungers and the quirky bathtub. After a day full of adventures, sink into the steamy bath and simply let your worries fade away. However, you decide to spend your days at Blue Cedar, they will be utterly magical!
The talented owners have their own sculpture school, you are able to enjoy the open gallery area during your stay, it is truly amazing! They live across the road and are there to answer any of your questions. Blue Cedar Shepherd's Hut is part of Burnswood Boutique Escapes. There is one other shepherd's hut on site, Lindenwood Shepherd's Hut, but both huts are positioned in a way that you have lots of privacy, with the decking area being totally secluded. If you are looking to escape back to nature with friends, these two huts are the perfect solution! A special place to retreat together with your own private areas.
Out and About
If you can pull yourself away from this romantic haven, then you will find Dartmoor right on your doorstep. With miles of outstanding beauty for you to explore by foot or bike. Dartmoor is also known for its rich history and rare wildlife, you may even want to try your hand at wild swimming! For boutiques, tea-rooms and independent shops head to the market towns of Okehampton or Tavistock. Both are a short drive away and offer weekly Pannier Markets. If you fancy a spot of retail therapy, you can visit the bustling city of Exeter.
Lindenwood Shepherd's Hut (5145), is situated perfectly to explore the wonders of both Devon and Cornwall. There are also several National Trust properties you can visit nearby, including Lydford Gorge, Buckland Abbey and Cotehele. Alternatively, you can head to Bude on the North Coast in Cornwall. Bude boasts sandy beaches and independently owned shops and restaurants, creating a welcoming feel to the area. The best spots for surfing are on the north coast at Widemouth Bay, Braunton and Woolacombe or head to the gentler south coast shores of Exmouth, Teignmouth and Shaldon for great beach days. After a day of adventures, head back to your bespoke haven for a restful night's sleep under the stars.
