Step Inside

Warm tones with a touch of countryside charm make this space truly inviting. The king-size bed takes centre stage, complete with soft linen for the dreamiest nights sleep. There's also a single Fresch day bed and three single futons for younger guests. They will love watching the moon and the stars through the Toono window at the top of the yurt… simply magical! When the morning arrives, cook up a delicious breakfast on the wood-fired stove and enjoy your morning coffee listening to birdsong. Just a few footsteps away from the yurt is your private alfresco hot shower, Belfast sink and toilet. You will also have access to the shared shower-room just a short distance away from the hideaway. This area is complete with another shower (perfect for when the weather isn't being so kind), toilet, large fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster, washing machine and tumble dryer. Great Links is simply perfect for a retreat to nature, without compromising the luxuries.

Outdoors

The magical outside space is perfect for enjoying those long summer evenings. Al fresco dining is a must, you can even help yourself to the ingredients from the shared herb garden, adding some delicious flavours to your cooking. The views are spectacular, soak in the wood-fired hot tub and gaze out at the sweeping views of Dartmoor… It doesn't get more tranquil than this! There is so much private outdoor space for the whole family to enjoy, making the most of your time in nature. For more breath-taking views of the Dartmoor Tors, step inside the heavenly barrel sauna for an experience like no other. You can book a time slot for this with the lovely owners. As the night draws in, toast marshmallows around the firepit and treat yourself to a glass of fizz (or two!). However you decide to spend your days at Great Links, it is certain you will have the loveliest retreat with the ones you love most.

Eco-features

If you are looking for the perfect eco-friendly hideaway, Great Links ticks all the boxes, as the whole site has won a Green Tourism Gold Award! Solar energy is used to power many of the facilities, such as the refrigerators, lighting and washing machines. Spring water is used from the natural well as much as possible. Water is harvested using water buts and then used to feed the animals and water the gardens. Carbon offset is available onsite, where guests can plant a tree for a £25 donation. Each tree is labelled by the guest who planted it, so you can leave a little bit of yourself at this truly magical glamping site! All food produce is sourced onsite or from local, sustainable small businesses. The flowers used to decorate the hideaways are grown onsite and the owners encourage re-wilding as much as possible!

Explore

If you can pull yourself away from this heavenly haven, there is so much natural beauty to explore nearby. Dartmoor National Park is a nature lover's dream, known for its rich history, rare wildlife and an abundance of beautiful walking routes. Grab your bike or explore Dartmoor by foot, or why not give wild swimming a go? The owners are happy to advise guests on where to find beautiful natural swimming spots around Dartmoor.

Head to the historic town of Tavistock, which is a short drive away. It is home of the cream tea and is the only town in Devon to hold world heritage status, so it's definitely worth a visit! There is a variety of local independent shops and cafes and the award-winning Pannier Market. Guided walks are on offer from and around the town, along with a golf course, museum and arts centre.

Great Links is situated perfectly to explore both Devon and Cornwall. There are several beautiful National Trust properties nearby, including Lydford Gorge, Buckland Abbey and Cotehele. Or head to the sandy beaches of North Cornwall. Bude is lovely, with an array of independently owned shops and restaurants. There are plenty of watersport activities to try or perhaps you might want to take a relaxing dip in the sea pool at Summerleaze Beach. After a day full of adventures head back to your humble abode for a relaxing evening under the stars.
