Porth Krow is an idyllic hideaway perched in the rolling countryside overlooking Gorran Gorras creek, the Roseland Peninsula, Falmouth harbour and beyond. It is founded on a sustainable and creative ethos, combined with a contemporary style and wealth of gorgeous detail. You will fall in love with its luxury interiors and beautifully handcrafted features made from reclaimed materials. The outside space couldn't be more special, with breathtaking views and plenty of tranquil spots to soak up the Cornish sun. Once you arrive, you will never want to leave this enchanting haven.

Step Inside

Step into your magical hideaway to be greeted by a light and airy open plan living area. The sun illuminates this space perfectly through the unique large windows overlooking the creek. The owners have added a variety of thoughtful handcrafted touches with luxury and comfort in mind. Many of the features within Porth Krow are mid-century vintage or Scandinavian, with an artistic touch. The cosy dining area sits to the right of the hideaway, accompanied by the cutest plant pots and framed collage painted by the owners. The sofa invites you to sit and enjoy the views out towards Falmouth with a warming cup of coffee, watching the ebb and flow of the tide. To the left of the living space sits the compact kitchen area, equipped with everything you’ll need to prepare a delicious meal. Wander through the charming archway and you’ll discover the incredibly cosy double bed, surrounded by stunning decor and a selection of books for you to delve into during your stay. The window is situated perfectly at the end of the bed for you to enjoy a lazy morning looking out towards the river, listening to the wind kissing the trees. The beautifully finished shower-room provides the perfect space to freshen up after a day of exploring this glorious part of Cornwall.

Outdoors

The outside space is just as special as its interior. With an abundance of space for you to enjoy the Cornish sun and explore its unspoilt surroundings. The hut is handcrafted from wood following a curved shape like a wooden igloo. A large patio area hugs the cabin and the bench makes the perfect spot to enjoy a refreshing gin & tonic! To the side sits an outside seating area complete with a wood burner, furniture made with reclaimed teak from an ocean liner and landscaping utilising reclaimed railway sleepers. There is a fantastic barbecue that makes al fresco dining an absolute dream. Enjoy a delicious meal or toasted marshmallows under the stars. There is even a small football goal to enjoy if you have little ones, all of these spots boast gorgeous views across the estuary that you will never forget.

Eco-features

The hut itself has been sustainably built from natural materials, while power is provided by on-site solar energy. The design and features of the hut utilise reclaimed material, making it the perfect eco getaway.

Explore

Porth Krow sits surrounded by nature, with mature oak and palms, a wild-flower meadow running down to the water's edge and the sounds of numerous garden and estuary birds. At high tide, it is possible to paddle or kayak from the property with a kayak provided by the owners (please do check the tide times). There is also direct access to the coastal footpath which provides a stunning walk along the water's edge to the nearby village of Flushing, why not hop on the ferry from here to Falmouth for a car-free day out.The small town of Penryn is also within easy reach and is full of lovely independent shops and cafes.

The small village of Mylor is a short drive away and is a popular sailing hub. You can even hire water sport equipment from Windsport International if you don't have your own. Enjoy a lovely lunch or dinner at Castaways and admire the stunning boats in the harbour out front. St Mawes is just across the water and is amazing to explore by boat. You can hire self-drive boats from Mylor Boat Hire and explore the many hidden coves along the coast enroute to this beautiful coastal village. In this area, you will also find the Pandora Inn, a fabulous water's edge pub. Jump onto the pontoon and enjoy some fresh Cornish produce with your favourite tipple!

On the outskirts of the town, you'll find Enys Gardens; stunning gardens that are perfect for a relaxing stroll through some stunning greenery. Head further down the road and you'll arrive at Falmouth, a vibrant maritime town that is home to a great range of eateries and independent shops. Spend a day at Gyllyngvase beach, known for its crystal clear waters and cafe serving delicious food. Porth Krow is also a short distance from the Helford, where you can explore many gorgeous footpaths, including the circular route around the renowned Frenchman’s Creek. This area has everything you could wish for and more to create unforgettable holiday memories that you will treasure forever.

Open plan living-room with kitchen, dining and bedroom areas. Electric 2 ring induction hob, toaster and fridge with ice-box. Double bed (4'6'')

Shower-room with shower, WC and wash-basin.

Extra Information

The hut itself sits within the three-acre garden of the owner’s home where they live with their friendly dog and three children. Next door is a small-holding with sheep, horses, ducks and geese.

Important Information

Please note, due to the rural location, the WiFi can be intermittent. Please supervise young children near the patio wood-burner. Take care around the sloping ceilings.

A cot is not provided, bring your own travel cot.
