General
For the lovers of romance, it's time to retreat to this truly romantic hideaway for two. Settled in rural Devon near Clovelly, peace and tranquillity surround this humble abode. The interiors of this magnificent yurt are just mesmerising. A tropical, bohemian haven. Colourful furniture and soft furnishing, in an abundance of playful patterns fill this Mongolian yurt. There is so much character within this bespoke hideaway, which we know you will just fall in love with. On a rainy-day light the wood burner and cosy up on the rattan armchair with that book you've been waiting to get stuck into. You are sure to get a dreamy night's sleep in the sumptuous double bed with luxurious linens and there's no need to set an alarm as your toono window will let you know when the sun has risen. This traditional styled window is historically the yurts most important feature. Throughout the day the sunlight moves through the window which allows you to tell the time without your watch. It's said that no negative energy can enter a yurt as there are no sharp corners for it to get trapped in. We told you, this really is the place to retreat to for some much-needed downtime.
Separate from the yurt you will find your small, but perfectly equipped kitchen in your carefully handcrafted wooden shed. There are electric hobs, a combination microwave, fridge, toaster, kettle, and enough equipment to whip up a tasty meal for two, if however, your preferred way of cooking is al fresco, then you can enjoy balmy summers evenings flipping fresh produce on the barbecue. Off the kitchen you will find the well-appointed shower room, perfect for freshening up in after the days adventure.
Whittlers Yurt is in a secluded spot with access to the owner's lake and adjoining fields. Cross the bridge and follow the babbling stream until you stumble upon the owner's idyllic lake. There is a platform above the water which is the perfect spot for yoga or meditation. For the lovers of wild swimming, you are in for a treat, as you are welcome to get into the water to refresh on a warm summer's day. Your outside space at your hidden haven truly is a delight. The heavenly hot tub is perfect for stargazing into the night. There's also the rustic fire pit to toast marshmallows upon and plenty of private space to sit back and relax with an ice cold G & T. Your four-legged friend is also welcome to join you on your retreat to nature.
For the seekers of romantic escapes, Whittlers is a magical place to retreat to with beautiful touches throughout. You enter your private space through the carefully handcrafted steal gate, created by the owners who are talented blacksmiths. The owners live onsite and are on hand if you have any questions, but please note your privacy is always respected.
