Shepherd's Hut in Cornwall: What a winner! A superb eco-retreat for two with all the luxury you could wish for. Peace and quiet in abundance, glorious landscaped grounds - and there's even an indoor heated swimming pool. It's definitely time to unwind . . .
General
Say goodbye to the hectic rush and bustle of day-to-day life. At Melody Farm Shepherd's Huts you can get busy doing nothing the whole day through. We're giving it a gold medal in get-away-from-it-all relaxation. Take a cup of coffee or a glass of bubbly onto your outdoor area and unwind while you listen to the birdsong, watch out for squirrels or maybe even catch a glimpse of a shy deer. You can sizzle something up on the barbecue, catch some rays on a sunny day or simply count the stars at night. Sheer. Bliss. Inside your hand-built hideaway is everything you'll need for a luxurious holiday, from fluffy towels to free WiFi. There's a deluxe double bed, a small dining-area and a perfectly formed little kitchen with a fridge and two-ring hob, plus all the gadgets you could want for conjuring up delicious meals. The icing on the cake? A wood-burning stove with all logs supplied to keep you toasty whatever the weather. Right next to the hut is Jasmine's very own shower cabin, spacious and modern, with a loo, basin, wall-mounted heater and double power-shower. Both spaces are insulated to within an inch of their lives, making them cool in summer and cosy in winter.
Eco-features
Jasmine sits in a quiet and pretty orchard within the grounds of The Emerald, an award-winning zero carbon eco development set in five acres of gorgeous Cornish countryside.
The Emerald
We mentioned The Emerald - well, here's the thing. This fabulous boutique retreat, where there is also a neighbouring shepherd's hut, five hi-spec, cedar-clad holiday houses and a more traditional holiday cottage, has so much to offer. Make the most of the indoor heated swimming pool with colour-changing lights (for funky night-time dips), tennis court, cricket nets, croquet lawn, table tennis and even a gym. And there's more: a pretty wildflower meadow, a peaceful pond with a gazebo and lots of secret pathways for you to wander dreamily through the trees. A secluded slice of rural heaven.
Out and About
Although it's off the beaten track enough for total chill-out seclusion, Jasmine Shepherd's Hut is perfectly positioned to enjoy all the wonderful things that everyone loves about Cornwall. The beaches and sailing waters of the south coast are just a short jaunt in one direction, while the magnificent cliffs, sandy dunes and surfing waves of the north coast are a quick hop in the other. You're between the maritime delights of Falmouth - where you'll find great beaches, all kinds of watersports and plenty of shops, bars, galleries and restaurants - and the county town of Truro, with its cobbled streets, independent boutiques, great cafés and restaurants and a pretty Victorian cathedral. Take the coastal path and meander towards the beautiful Helford River valley and The Lizard peninsula, or tramp the network of public footpaths that take you across lush countryside and rolling fields. Cycle from coast to coast on a dedicated trail, get your clubs out for a golfing treat, explore incredible gardens with exotic tropical planting or even, for an extra special treat, hire a classic car and cruise the country lanes in an open-top Morgan.
