Safari tent in Cornwall: We reckon Woody has it all: tranquil rural location, minutes from a couple of fab beaches and a to-die-for stylish interior. Gather by the fire pit, relax in the hammock, fly a kite or spend a day surfing the waves - what do you want to do?

Ever wanted to live your life as though you were in a magazine shoot? Well, a stay at Woody will make you feel as though you were glamping it up in the pages of your favourite interiors glossy. So cool it's practically frozen (except that it's actually roasty-toasty warm inside all year round), this to-die-for luxury camping destination has it all: old-meets new furnishings, fur throws, luxury bedding, designer chairs, distressed timber, hide rugs, corrugated metal, even a wood-burning range... It's an eclectic mash-up of vintage-meets-industrial-chic with a bit of Scandi-rustic thrown in for good measure. Eat your heart out, Elle Decoration.

Let's get down to basics. This fab-u-lous safari tent is just about as far as it's possible to get from the stresses and strains of daily life, set within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a few minutes' drive from two great beaches. A quick whizz with your kit in a wheelbarrow from the parking area to the seven-acre wildflower meadow (shared only with one other safari tent and Rusty, a stylish converted shipping container) means the site stays car-free and totally tranquil, and in the neighbouring field there's plenty of room to run around, fly a kite or enjoy a picnic. Hiding in the little wood next door is a rope swing, a rowing boat ('let's pretend!') and a hammock, and while the kids expend their energy you could opt for an utterly effortless day spent idling on Woody's raised wooden deck doing nothing but gazing at the view.

Inside, there's plenty of room for six with two bedrooms (a double and a twin), as well as a cute cabin bed in the main living area. Sprung mattresses and quality bed linens ensure a good night's sleep, and all the practicalities are included, from soft towels to a double power socket, enamel mugs - to use inside or out - and lanterns. There's a wood-fired range, which doubles as a cooker at mealtimes and for heating should the temperature tumble and, at the rear of the tent, a wooden annexe housing a large wet-room (you can take hot water for granted), a separate wash-room with flushing WC and a storage area with a fridge. Everything, in fact, AND the kitchen sink.

The on-site honesty shop is quaintness personified, offering a mix of home-made delights, farm-fresh local produce and everyday essentials, including home-made cakes, Cornish pasties, eggs and bacon and ice cream. And when you get back from the beach nicely tired and hungry, help yourself to some fresh herbs (from the herb boat, where else?) and you can either gather round the barbecue or get together by the nearby shared fire-pit, which has amazing views over the coastline. A romantic dinner for two or a giggly group gathering - nothing could be nicer than toasting marshmallows while watching the sunset.

Out and About

During your stay at Woody you can get your surfing head on and book a lesson in riding the waves (just ask the helpful Owners, who will sort it for you). Or get out and about and explore enticing old fishing villages like Cadgwith and Porthleven, check out Cornwall's unique geographical features such as Loe Bar and The Lizard peninsula, or walk the amazing South West Coast Path. Glamping at Woody is the perfect way to re-connect with nature and enjoy the simple things. Quite simply, it's a little bit of heaven.

Open plan living-room with kitchen and dining areas. Wood-fired range and double bed. Bedroom 1 with double bed. Bedroom 2 with twin beds. Shower-room enclosure with double shower. Separate WC and wash-basin. Fridge.
